| Felicity never turned around in her seat until the left the city limits. The same thought ran through her mind over and over again, the thought of never seeing Taylor again. That very thought scared Felicity, It sent chills down her spin and the small hairs on her arm rise and stand up straight. The other thought, besides able to see Taylor again, thats cared her was that she wouldnt be able to make any friends in a city that was soon to be her new home. Are you ok sweetie, Mrs. Weeks asked? Felicity looked at her mother with teared filled eyes and replied, No, not really. Her mother put her hand on Felicitys shoulder and caressed her hair, Baby, I know what you are going through Ive been your age before. Remember I was raised in a military family. My father stationed in many different parts of the country. It seemed like every 6 to 8 months we were moving. Felicity rolled her eyes, mom you dont know how I feel. You were able to make new friends. The only friends Ive ever had are back there, back there in Tulsa. Dont you understand Ive been forced to leave everyone behind. Mrs. Weeks trying to reassure her daughter once more, Just listen to what I have to say. Her mother continued, My jr. year in high school my father was stationed to Fort Worth, TX, and at the time we were in Baltimore. Now I had made new friends there in Baltimore and had met the most handsome young man that I thought there was, at that time. Out of the four months we dated wed fallen deeply in love I found out that my father was being stationed in TX. When my parents told me that we had to move again I was devastated. I yelled at my father and mother and told them that I wasnt going anywhere. I protested against it until the day we moved. My point is, sweet heart, that if you and Taylor are meant to be together then youll be together again one day, if not youll find someone else and youll forget all about Taylor. I moved on after we moved to TX, did it hurt in the process, yes it did. It hurt like hell. I finished high school went on to college and met your father. If I hadnt met your father, I would have never had you. And I cant imagine life without you, because you are my life. Felicity sat in silence thinking of what he mom just told her. She finally came to the conclusion that her mother was right. If her and Taylor were meant for each other that they would be together again. Felicity sighed and wiped away her tears, Mom, your right, if Taylor and I are meant to be we will be together again. At that comforting statement, Mrs. Weeks know that Felicity would be ok. They drove until ten-thirty that night. They stopped the night at a small inn right outside the, OK, state line. Felicity walked in the room with her parent and groaned at the sight of the small room with to full size beds nearly touching each other. She walked in the bathroom, that was barely big enough to turn around in, and then dressed in to her nightclothes. Then stepped out of the cramp space and crawled into bed. As she laid her head on the pillow and closed her eyes, heavy form a lack of sleep, she thought of Taylor and how much she missed him. |
