| AUGUST 22, 2009 - Ernie Palmer Jr. would jump out to the early lead in the Modified feature with Jeff Sheely in tow. The yellow flag would fly early and often during the event as the 23 of Richie Price would get turned around in turn 4. On the restart 2007 Modified Champion Craig Hanson would use the restart to his advantage jumping past Palmer and Sheely to take over the top spot. Sheely would follow suit as he made his way past Palmer into second. Defending Champion Jeff Brownell Jr. would find the outside to his liking as he drove past Palmer to third. Switching lanes to the bottom of the speedway Brownell was on the move as he swept past Sheely and into second. Another yellow flag would fly for the 6H of Josh Hohenforst who came to rest on the front end of Danny Tyler. On the restart Brownell would make his move looking to the outside of Hanson in turn 3 but Hanson would shut the door off turn 4. At the finish it was all Craig Hanson as he claimed his first victory of the season. |
