Mission Rain

The watery glider exploded out of the foggy floater
Flying downward, air roaring past him, thundering by
His beaded face smashing against the air as the trees below
The fields and valleys and hills, the rivers and lakes
Grew larger by the second and half second and minute
Pieces of him ripped off, colliding with other fallers
Among the multitudes of free flying fallers
He flipped and turned and warbled in the wind
Rising on a rush of upward sailing wind
And then dropping again, jetting for the ground
For the grass, for the dirt, for the puddles, for anything solid.
A bird flew past, taking out some of his compatriots
A feathery fighter from the land of the living
A burst of wind blew him left sending him sailing
Reeling, unable to right himself
He continued to fall downward, diagonally now
The air was getting hot, he was burning, disappearing in the air
A large tree flew by, the bark blurring by
Green leaves and a rock and grass
Splash!
Mission accomplished.
