The Abyss
I stand on the edge of the abyss
That dark void
The chilling wind whistling from a gaping mouth in the ground
And I hear a distant voice whispering
"Jump!"
"But I fear the bottom!" I cry.
"What will I regret, what if I die?"
The answer whispers on the wind,
"I will be here with you till the end,
But now you must jump into this void
For what is unknown to you is known to me
Trust in me, don't rely on what you see."
And all is quiet again as I peer over the edge
The wind howls still in the eerie tongue of ghosts as I step to the ledge
I don't look back
I don't look down
I run to the lip and make no sound as I
Jump
