Kelsey started nursing immediately and nursed off and on for more than 2 hours after her birth.
Proud daddy, with a daughter that looks exactly like he did as a baby. Kelsey is just a few hours old here.
Grammy rushed to the hospital to meet her new granddaughter. Kelsey's tongue is thrusting frantically... she wants more nursing!
Big sister Etta (22 months old) greets Kelsey with enthusiasm. Etta's word for baby is "tee-tee," which she says over and over at the sight of Kelsey.
Kelsey finally came into the world after nearly a week of failed induction attempts, and 26 hours of labor. Mommy just didn't want to let this last pregnancy end. Kelsey completes our family of three wonderful daughters. Kelsey and mommy came home from the hospital the day after the birth, and were so glad to return to the comforts of home. The chaos of a household with an active toddler is more restful than the constant interruptions one receives at the hospital, believe it or not. Daddy is taking time off work to look after Etta while mommy focuses on meeting Kelsey's needs during these first few days. Mommy is actually feeling quite well and in good spirits even though she's only getting a few hours of sleep a night. Kelsey is slightly jaundiced, but otherwise thriving.
