Requirements:
-------------

PC running Windows (95/98/NT/2000) with WinAmp 2.x installed.
PDA running PalmOs 3.5 or higher.
Serial cable between the PDA and the PC. The Palm HotSyncCradle will do,
but a simple serial cable is better. IrDA could be used but the range is
in most cases too short.

Installation:
-------------

Unpack the archive to a directory of your choice (Ex C:\Program Files\MMC):
Create a shortcut to MMC.exe for easy access to the program.

Open the MMC.ini with a text editor (Ex Notepad).
Change "Player/Path" to the Path to WinAmp.
Change "Player/DataBase" to the location for a data base for your music. Space requirement is about 400kB/1000 songs.
Change "Song/Path1" to the location for your music files.
Change "PlayList/Path1" to the location for your WinAmp playlist files.
Change "COM/Settings" to the COM port that the PDA is connected to.
Change "COM/Settings" to suitable serial speed (115200 is recommended).

Install MMC.prc (Included in the archive) on your PDA with the Palm "Install Tool".
Start MMC on the PDA. Set the port and serial speed in the "Options/Settings..." form.

Connect the serial cable between the PDA and the PC.

Start the Program:
------------------

Start MMC.exe on the PC.
WinAmp 2.x should start.
A message indicating the number of songs/playlists found should be displayed.
The message "Server running" should be displayed.

Start MMC on the PDA.
A list with the following choices should be displayed:
"Artist", "Title", "Album", "Genre", "Year", "Search" and "PlayList".
If "No contact with server!" is displayed, check that the COM port in the MMC.ini
file is correct and that the serial speed in the MMC.ini and the speed set in MMC
on the PDA is the same.

Stop MMC on the PC by pressing CTRL+C

Using MMC on the PC:
--------------------

To reduce the time it takes to start MMC due to the search for songs and playlists, MMC can
be started with the "-d" option (MMC.exe -d). MMC will then create a database with all songs
and playlists. To update the database, select "Reload" in the "Control" menu on the PDA.

The ini file:
Player/Type Only "WinAmp2" is supported at the moment.
Player/Path Path to WinAmp 2.x
Player/Ini Name of WinAmp ini file.
Player/Database Name of the MMC database.
COM/Settings COM port and speed. The speed must be the same as in
                     "Options/Settings.../Baud" on the PDA.
Layout/Maxrecords Maximum number of songs downloaded to the PDA at the time.
Song/FileType Supported song types.
Song/Path1 Path to songs.
Song/Path2...n Additional song paths.
PlayList/FileType Supported playlist types.
PlayList/Path1 Path to playlists.
PlayList/Path2...n Additional playlist paths.

Tips:
-----

If "No contact with server!" is displayed, select "Main Menu" in the Control menu
to try to re-establish the connection.

Use the "page" button on your Palm PDA to scroll quickly in the song lists.

Uninstall:
----------

Delete the data base file. The path to the data base is found in MMC.ini Player/DataBase.
Default location is C:\Temp\MMC_DataBase.bin.

Delete the folder where MMC was installed.

Uninstall the MMC.prc on the Palm PDA.

Known Bugs:
-----------

"Shutdown Server" does not work with Windows 95/98.

If Repeat and/or Random mode in WinAmp is changed manually on the PC it is not possible
for MMC to detect this (Due to some limitations in the WinAmp API). If this happends
eather set WinAmp to the same state as displayed at the top of the MMC Palm screen, or
close WinAmp and MMC and restart.

RF (Bluetooth) connection type have not been tested and may be broken. If you have a Palm with
Bluetooth and would like to do some beta testing, please send a mail to MMC_Palm@hotmail.com.

TO DO:
------

Add support for Linux and XMMS.
Verify the RF (Bluetooth) connection type.
