HELP FOR WEB BASED LOG APPLICATION
0. WELCOME!

1. Click "Browser All Records" menu to browser all log records
in database. This is the most useful link that you can use.
It will present you a table with brief contents of all records.
To view FULL contents of a specific log record, click the ID
number under ID column of the table. While you are viewing a
record, you can change a record, or click the file name that
is attached to the record to view ( or download ) the full
   contents of the attached file.

2. To create a new log record, just click "Create A New Record" menu.
For issue description, investigation activity, console or black box
log text areas, you can put up to 62,000 characters at one time,
you can add more chunks of up to 62,000 characters using 'Change
   Record' link.

(Note: 62,000 character limit is imposed by web server, not by
database, which will accept any number of characters until memory
   exhausted).

For really big console or black box log, you may
need to ftp it to server machine rather than add several chunks
of characters to the log record. When ftp'ing, You need to
give the log file a unique file name, then type in
the file name in the text field of "Additional Log File Names".

For binary console or black box log file, you need to use FTP,
because text area on web browser does not accept binary data.

To submit the log record, just click "Submit New Record" button.

If you are writing to the database for the first time, you
will be prompted to enter your core ID to identify yourself.

time in Investigation Activity text field.

3. When you are viewing a full contents of a record, you can
click a link named "Please Click Here" to change the record.
If you want to view the log file ( or download the log file )
just click on the the log file name in the talbe under the
   column "additional_log_file_names".

4. There is another way to view a record, on the first web page,
just type in the log record ID that you are interested in,
then click on "Click to view it" button.

5. There is another way to change a record, on the first web page,
just type in the log record ID that you want to change,
then click on "Click to change it" button.
If you are writing to the database for the first time,
you will be prompted to enter your core ID to identify yourself.

to type in your Core ID.

7. How to FTP a console or black box log file to server machine:
If you are the first time to use FTP function on this web page
to ftp a file to server machine, you need to down load a small
FTP program first from this web site, and run it on your machine.
( or just run the program from its current location ).
Then click on 'Click to FTP console or black box log files
to server machine', you will be given a FTP web page, click on
FTP menu on your web browser, or ftp icon on toolbar to do ftp.
You need to give full path and file name for the file to be ftp'ed.
You need to give a unique name for the file to be stored on server
   machine.
