The Fall season of the Super Sunday League kicked off on Sunday with a
'new' firm derby between the Han River Harriers and the Seoul UK
Expats.
Any hope of a friendly encounter playing mate against mate when went
out the window before the match even started due a farcical situation
in the organisation of a playing surface. Once both teams traveled
half way around Seoul it was third time lucky and kick off with an
hour to play.
The game started at quick pace with expats firing on all cylinders and
sporting a few new faces who kept the Harriers back line on their
toes. It was against the run of play when a low ball penetrated across
the box to find Yoos who made mistake with an easy. 1-0 Expats and
relentless pressure from the Harriers didn't pay off before half time
with many a good opportunity missed. Both Evan and Andy forcing Dan to
make some good saves.
To the final thirty and the Harriers didn't panic, persistent pressure
paid off when Even struck a well timed volley from a Sean cross
straight into the back of the net. It was only a few minutes later
when Sean again put Andy through a gap.. a great shot led to Dan
parrying the ball straight to Evan following up and finishing the
rebound. 2-1 to the Harriers and one would think given more time the
flood gates may have opened.
Lawrence capped the victory volleying in the harriers third goal from
close range after David picked him out from the left wing.
The Harriers are briefly on top of the table and hopes high for a
finish in top 3. |
