Game Summary (by Randal):
Despite the 3-1 scoreline against Lokomotiv
Goyang, after the final whistle, there was a general feeling of ¡°we should
have done better¡± amongst the Harriers. Our shooting was the biggest problem.
Francesco¡¯s two blasts in the first half were valiant long-range efforts which
barely missed the crossbar; otherwise, the shots taken by our strikers and
mid-fielders were better characterized as gaffs: sitters kicked wide of the post
or chipped over the net; or perfect crosses headed over the bar. Lokomotiv¡¯s
keeper deserves a lot of credit for keeping the score relatively close, but
I¡¯m sure even he would agree that he was helped by our sloppy shooting.
Against teams higher in the table, the Harriers would have been punished for
such a display.
If I had to point out a bright spot in the game (other than the fact we
won), it would be the performance of the mid-field in the first half, especially
the passing between Francesco, Christophe, Jean-Blaise and Guillaume. It was
crisp and inventive. Unfortunately, the midfield lost some of it¡¯s
cohesiveness after the halftime substitution of Christophe and J-B. J-B in
particular dominated the left side of the field and was rewarded with a goal.
Despite several misses, Guillaume¡¯s onslaught of shots eventually found the
net. Aiden rounded out the scoring with a poached shot from the top of the box.
