The big double interviewAnni meets Hanni
Gold-Anni & Gold-Hanni. BamS met Germany's Olympic dream couple for an exclusive double interview in Salt Lake City. Restaurant „Christopher's“ is the meeting place. Anni caresses her 1500 meter gold medal. Hanni: „Now you also have your baby.“ BamS: How long have you known each other? Anni: „Since the Club der Besten ‘98 in Greece. The ski jumpers were the beachvolleyball champions.“ Hanni: „We had the "rowing" planned. On our side though, it was all shady because the big ones stood by the net.“ They both order Fettucini Melanzine. Hanni: „With lots of Popeye-spinach.“ She drinks orange lemonade, he tap water. BamS: How will these Olympic victories change your lives? Anni: „Stronger neck muscles! A medal like this is rather heavy, when it hangs around your neck. And we have experienced a bit of immortality.“ Hanni: „There are many world champions, only a few Olympic ones.“ BamS: What experiences will you take with you? Anni: „It was nice to meet the rap artist Coolio in the village. I have also learnt a great deal more. I now know how to sort out who I can't rely on when things get tough.“ Hanni: „Where it turns out wrong, if one enters a competition filled with anger.“ Anni cuts through the air with her left hand: „Zischschsch – my rage made me faster.“ BamS: When Anni did her 1500 meter gold race you were on the stand with a German flag... Hanni: „My first live speed skating race. I cheered her on, while she was under such great strain during the whole thing. I know how that is, when everyone really expects three gold medals. I was also daunted after I blew it with my fall in the K120.“ Anni laughs: „But you haven't got any catfights in ski jumping !“ Hanni: „No, thank God! I really wouldn't want to trade with Anni. When I see how exhausted she was after the race. I find it impossible that she's called an ice-bimbo. She has had huge success before, without a doubt.“ BamS: Do you find ski jumping alluring, Anni? Anni: „I can jump over a couple of bumps when I'm skiing– especially with some warm wine inside. When I imagine standing up on the hill, then taking off like a bullet, without being able to brake, nooo...“ BamS: Would you like to have groupies like the ski jumpers have? Anni: „Really, I can very well do without posters with text like ‘Anni, I want to have a child with you’.“ BamS: Can you understand that girls fall for Hanni? Anni: „Of course, he's good looking, has a beautiful face. A friend of mine got rather smitten, the first time she met him.“ BamS: Hanni, how do you like Anni's erotic photos? Hanni: „I think it's interesting that she doesn't show everything. That would have taken the tease away. I would certainly never spoil my fans with any underwear photos.“ BamS: And tatoos? Anni: „Hanni, don't say the wrong thing now!“ She has a celtic flame-motif on her stomach. Hanni: „I find them sexy, if they're not too big.“ BamS: How will that look when you get old, Anni? Ihr Spa-Konter sitzt: „By then one has such deep furrows that the tatoo will disappear.“ BamS: Hanni is known to be a muffin baking expert. Can you cook, Anni? Anni: „Sure, the entire Bayerish's programme. Apfelstrudel, Kaiserschmarrn, Semmelkndel – all from my grandmother's recipes. The one thing I don't like is washing up. Everything goes in the dishwasher.“ Hanni: „I have two dishwashers: right hand and left hand...“ BamS: What do you most look forward to when you get home? Anni: „A hot bath in my acrylic corner bathtub. Because we only have two showers in our eight-people-apartment in the olympic village. Quite a lot of foam, the phone close by and then bathe for so long that the skin gets all wrinkly.“ Hanni: „I'll be glad to be able to go to a bakery again without security checkups. And feel the speed when driving. The automatic cars here are rather sluggish.“ Hanni & Anni. If you think, after reading this interview, that the two of them would be good together– sorry, that will not happen. But they will see each other again. Anni: „At the next opportunity I'll come to the hill.“ © 2002 Bild.de English translation © Camilla Lang |
