Ms. Charlene Councilman- Art Teacher
The art program at Hannan serves grades K-5. It is a program which includes many different techniques and media, designed to expose students to various areas of art. Research has shown that participation in fine arts programs enhances performance in other areas. Our students are also exposed to art history, leading to cultural literacy.
In September, artwork from Hannan was on display in the Barbara Pound Education Gallery at the Columbus Museum. The children participated in an outreach program sponsored by the museum in July. Angie Cook, an Artist-in-Residence, led a program called, "Drawing is for Everyone". Hannan will also have artwork on display in October at Claflin.
