Perth
The whole Moren family, with Perth's skyline in the background.
In Perth we could swim in the ocean, something we couldn't do in Cairns.
One day we visited Freemantle, a small town close to Perth. There we went on a guided tour in an old prison which was really neat. It looked just like prisons in movies, except for the painting that were left on some places, like the one below. The picture on the right is a duplicate of what the cells looked like when the prison was first build. The cells were tre*six feet och one*two meters. Talk about claustrofobic!
Christmas Eve we spent together with my cousin Cecilia who lives in Perth and her family who was also there on vacation. We started with eating lunch at a cafe...
... then we almost followed the Swedish tradition to dance around the Christmas tree by dancing around the pool.
And the day ended with "santa" handing our gifts and then we all ate a traditional Swedish Christmas dinner.
When you go to Perth you also have to visit the beautiful island Rottnest, just outside the coast. There are some fantastic beaches! We spent a day there, swimming and snorkling.
To go to Australia without looking at their somewhat odd animals is impossible. So we went to "Caversham Wildlife Park" where you could pet coalas...
... feed kangaroos...
... look at emus (left) and hold wombats (right). I must say that wombats where probably the weirdest animal. But they were cute!
