Turtlehead peak is at the upper left of this photo. It is 17 miles west of the strip in Las Vegas, NV at the Red Rock Canyon National Conservation Area The peak is 6,721 ft. above sea level.
The Turtlehead Peak Trail has great hiking and views of Red Rock Canyon and Las Vegas. The trail is moderatly difficult. It's listed as 5 miles and described as very strenuous.
The trail heads up north over a narrow rise, in and out of a wash towards the saddle.
While going up the steep ravine to the saddle the footing gets real loose and you lose the trail for many diverse hiking opportunities. The trail continues for a short distance along the northwest side up a steep ridge to the top.
