Every vacation area has an affectionate name for their tourists. Our part of the Jersey shore has "The Benny". There are many stories as to the names origin, but regardless of which one you hear, if you were not born here you are one.
Everyone likes the summer weather and the money tourists bring into our local economy, but nobody likes the crowds and traffic jams. So we have mixed emotions about Labor Day. ( It's like your mother-in-law driving off a cliff in your new car.)
After over twenty years our "Lynn & Hank's annual Bennies Go Home" party has grown from a small family get together to a party of over seventy people and some real serious volleyball rivalries.
