Christmas 2006
This is apparently Elliott's preferred outfit for visiting with Courtney, only last time he wasn't so grabby and there wasn't a baby to grab! At Courtney's baby shower in July, it was hot, so we stripped Elliott down to his diaper. On December 23, when visiting Courtney and Brian and their adorable 3-month-old son, Mack Anderson Dietz, Elliott required an outfit change, and it was tough enough to get a new diaper on him, so we let the clothes go for part of the visit. We thought it was a challenge to change him on his changing table at home, now that he likes to roll and squirm and look over the side. But try changing him on the floor and it becomes a hand-eye coordination game - he's rolled away before you can snap a snap or cover a cheek!
"Santa, please just give me back to my mother."
Lest you think the boy never cries... Okay, so there's still (or again) some separation anxiety.
New toys to play with on Christmas day.The alligator is actually from Courtney. Elliott has been enjoying his gifts from his grandparents and the musical instruments and wooden toys we got him. He also thinks the purple flute John got me is pretty cool.
It was still a regular day with morning and afternoon naps. It's so nice when Elliott wakes up happy and wanting to play! We had hoped to make a Christmas visit to a nursing home, but Elliott was a little sniffly, so we figured it was safest for the residents and for him to keep him home. We found a local web site that coordinates holiday visits, so I hope to do that in the future. Elliott loves people, and they seem to like him, too!
In the evening, when Karey learned we were still in town, she, Tyler and baby Henry came over with Christmas cookies. It was a great surprise! Elliott loves company, and it was great to see the Davis family.

After that, we made a brief visit at neighbor Harry and Dawn's house to see their big Christmas tree and snow village.

Then it was time for bed!
After Christmas we headed to Indianapolis for a few days. Here is Elliott with his six Haney (Koch and Zirnheld) cousins, Grandma Marcy, Aunt Beck and Grandpa Bill. The polar bear sweater was a gift from Grandpa Jim.
