Frequentally asked questions:
Q: When do you make the cast?
A: I like to make the cast in the last 6 to 4 weeks. At your fullest point, and before the baby drops.
Q: Are there any risks involved to me or my baby?
A: No. It is completely safe for both you and your baby. In fact since the first step is to apply lots of vasaline to your skin. Your skin is given some needed moisture that will soften your skin.
Q: How long does it take?
A: It takes about an hour from set up to clean up. It only takes about 25-30 mins. for the cast to be put on and to harden enough to be removed. this is the only hard part, because you do need to stay still during this time. You will be pampered during this time which makes this time go quickly.
Q: Can I do this myself?
A: No. It does take another person to apply the cast material as you have to be still during this part.
Q: How much time does it take to get my finished peice?
A: Once I pour the mold it takes about 6-8 weeks for it to completely dry before it can be painted and another 3 weeks for painting and protective coatings to dry and cure. so 12 to 14 weeks total. Just like birthing the baby it takes time, but well worth the wait.
