Hamsters are omnivores- that means they require grains (like seeds and nuts), vegetables and hard treats to gawn on for a well balanced diet.
Hamsters have unique cheek pouches that extend from there cheeks to there shoulders. They act as storage pouches for food and nesting materials. Your hamster will put food in his cheeks and move it to a certain area where he can eat it later. Try not to disturb your hamsters food place for this will make him upset.
Hamsters are constant nibblers and they wil chew on anything; its normal and a healthy activity. There little teeth are always growing, and gawning helps keep them down. |
