About Me
My name is Amanda, aka Sassy, and I live in the great land of central USA!  I attend the local University and am enrolled in our prestegious Honors College.  I live with my grandparents and I am owned by 16 hamsters and one papillon.

I got my first hamster, Kiri, in June of 2004.  Like any good pet owner, I began research immediately about my new pet and quickly discovered their interesting genetics behind their coating colors.  I went back to the pet store and bought a male, Rocky, who I later discovered was only a normal, and a mean one at that, so I traded him with another breeder I found in the local paper for a "fawn" male.  Teddy, was not fawn, but infact, a bright orange, called "Argente."  It was not long until this fascination became an infatuation.  I love the litte critters and will probably never be without them!

As a breeder, I am currently working toward the sought after four gene color, "Champagne" for my Senior Honors Thesis project.  I will also be working with a few other breeders internationally to try to 1. Outbreed the diabetes from the New Grey Gene, and 2. Split the Silvering gene from the black gene.  These are side projects and although are not my main focus, they will be worked on at a slow pace.  After my college years are said and done, I will work to establish pure stock of the six, one gene colors (Argente, Black, BEA, Albino, Opal, and Grey).  The Moscows tend to weaken as they become more pure, so they are best left with mixed heritage.

All of my babies when adopted personally are sent with packets of information, food for a couple of weeks, and a lifetime of support.  I do have starter packages available that include cages, water bottles, food, dishes, a house to play in, bedding, and a sand box.  I strive to have beautiful babies, sound in health and temperment, raised with love.  NONE of my hamsters will ever be sold as snake food and if an owner cannot keep their hamster, they are free to return it to me.

When possible, I do participate in rescue of unwanted hamsters.

If you are looking for a fun loving pet, whether for play, to watch, or for breeding, feel free to drop me an email.  I return ALL of my emails when I get the chance, so give me time, and I'll give you some!

**I have recieved numerous questions about "cute" hamsters that do tricks such as back flipping, ect.  Please read the questions page to find your answers.  I will assume you have researched this site thoroughly and have read these questions.  I will not answer these in the emails I return to you.  You already have the answers to them and my time is quite valuable.  It will not help you for me to parrot them back to you via email.
