Todays world is different then Hamlets world, in the way of murders. In Hamlets time poison, swords and more would murder people. So far in the book two people have been murdered. One of the murders was King Hamlet. His own brother poisoned him so he could move onto the thrown. The other murder was Poloniuss. He was killed when Hamlet stabbed him because he thought it was some one else. In the 1500s the only time people would be punished for these actions was when there was no doubt that it happened. In Poloniuss case the queen saw Hamlet kill him but with out that witness there would have been no charges brought against him. There was never an investigation during this era. Now as we enter the 20-century we are able to investigate everything fully. The only problem that comes about is the fact that as our technology grows so does was of committing murders. Every day people are killed by guns, knifes, hand-to-hand combat, staged murders, and an unlimited amount of weapons (biological and chemical). We also have a true justice system. In Hamlets time they would turn and chops off the murders head. Now days we have to go through the process of trial, sentencing and in some cases death or just prison time.
