William Shakespeare was born April 23, 1564. He was the son of Mary and John Shakespeare. William was the third of eight children in the family. Growing up, his father was a very known storekeeper. He made gloves and was involved in wool products. It was hard throughout parts of Williamss life because his family went though finical problems. With these problems William was unable to attend school past the age of 13. This did not stop William from following his goals and becoming a professional play writer. It is said that William picked up most of his writing skills from two well-known writers named Ovid and Plautue.
While living in the town of Stratford, William began his career with different forms of writing. These varied from poetry, plays, short stories, sonnets and anything else that came to his head. He soon becomes well known for his plays and continued on with those.  Before William left Stratford he was married to an older women named Anne Hathaway. They were married November 27 1582. She was 26 years old and William was 18 years old. During this time their difference in age was very unusual.  Together they moved to London.  In London William, Anne, and their three children lived as he wrote plays. These plays were performed in the famous Globe Theater.
William became known for his creative plays. A total of 38 play in all. During the first 10 years of Williams writings they we based on historical matters. Many of these plays involved royalty and the issues in which they faced. After those were completed he turned to the more tragic plays. These were the plays where family turns on one another, lives and loves are lost. Many say this was the best period for William.  William finally added plays in which had a great inspiration mounted onto the plot.
During this time William was faced with a few deaths in his family. First his only son Hamnet was killed in 1596 and then the death of his father John soon followed. In 1601 his mother died. It was said that many of Williams writings were based on things William had encountered.
To add to the unfortunate luck, the Globe Theater was burned to the ground in 1613 during the play Henry The 8th. Reconstruction would not be hard but William decided that it was time for him to retire. William and his wife moved back to Stratford in 1613. Three years later on April 23 1616, on his 52nd birthday, William died from unknown causes. He was buried in Trinity Church on the 25th of April.
