LEAGUE TOURNAMENT -   August 16 and 17th

 

Tuesday, May 13th vs Hamilton Elities

  • Dianne Trask started the Pontiacs season off on a winning note against the hometown rival Hamilton Elities pitching a 4 strikeout, 4 hitter win of 11 to 0.   Kathy Sitak, Dianne Trask, Elizabeth Verbeem and Riekie Dutcher were all 2 for 3 at the plate and each scored twice to pace the Pontiacs

Tuesday, May 20th versus Brantford

  • The Hamilton Pontiacs defeated the Brantford Intermediates 2 to 1 in Tri-County League play behind the 6 strikeout, 5 hit pitching of Dawn VanderhorstLori Kostur lead the way at the plate going 3 for 3 and scoring once.  Riekie Dutcher helped the cause going 3 for 3 as well with the only 2 rbi's of the game for the Pontiacs in the first inning.

·        The Hamilton Pontiacs defeated the Grimsby Intermediates 6 to 2 behind the pitching of Jenny Kells.

Wednesday, June 11th versus Fisherville Fossils

  • Dianne Trask took the mound for the Pontiacs and pitched a 14 to 6 win against the Fisherville Fossils striking out 4 batters and giving up 8 hits and 2 walks.   Dianne also helped at the plate going 3 for 4 with a walk and scoring twice.  Krissy Sebastian also helped at the plate going 2 for 3 and scoring twice with Kelly Litwiller going 4 for 5 and scoring twice.  Kira Waghorn pitched in with a home run as did Christine Bassett

Thursday, June 19th versus Fisherville Lady J’s

·         Behind the two inning shutout pitching of Riekie Dutcher and the 5 inning 3 strikeout, 7 hit pitching of Jenny Kells, the Pontiacs defeated the Fisherville Lady J's 11 to 5.  Christine Bassett led at the plate going 4 for 4 and being one double shy of the complete cycle.  Kris Gordon also helped at the plate going 4 for 4 with 2 triples while Riekie Dutcher added a homerun.

Tuesday, June 24th versus Port Colborne Commettes

·         Behind the 7 strikeout, 6 hit pitching of Dawn Vanderhorst, the Hamilton Pontiacs defeated the Port Colborne Commettes 8 to 3.  Kira Waghorn led at the plate going 2 for 3 with a walk, and a 2 rbi triple.  Kelly Litwiller also helped the cause.

Thursday, June 26th versus Six Nations

·         The Pontiacs defeated the Six Nations Intermediates 7 to 6 in 8 innings, scoring twice in the first inning of the International Tie-breaker.  Jenny Kells pitched the win with Dianne Trask leading at the plate going 3 for 4, scoring twice and having four rbi’s (including the two in the extra inning).  Riekie Dutcher also helped the cause scoring twice and going 2 for 4 at the plate.

Tuesday, July 8th versus Niagara Falls

·         The Pontiacs defeated the Niagara Falls Intermediates 11 to 1 with Amanda Marsh leading at the plate going 3 for 3 and scoring twice.  Lori Kostur also was hot at the bat going 2 for 3 with a triple and scoring twice and Riekie Dutcher also hit a homerun and was 2 for 3 at the plate.  Amanda Marsh and Jenny Kells combined for the pitching win.

Tuesday, July 15th versus Grimsby

·         Dawn Vanderhorst pitched the 7 to 4 win against the Grimsby Intermediates, helping herself at the plate with a triple, scoring twice, and going 1 for 2 at the plate with a walk.  Elizabeth Verbeem also helped at bat with a double and triple and scoring twice.

·         Forfeit by Townsend - Pontiacs win 7 to 0 – Exhibitions game played with score of 6 to 2 for Pontiacs.

·         Amanda Marsh pitched a 3 hit, 4 strikeout 6 to 1 win against the Brantford Intermediates.  Riekie Dutcher led at the plate going 3 for 4 and scoring once with Krissy Sebastian also scoring once and going 1 for 2 at the plate.

Tuesday, July 29th versus Hamilton Elites

·         The Hamilton Pontiacs defeated the Hamilton Elities 15 to 2 behind the pitching of Dianne Trask, who also helped her cause scoring once and going 4 for 5 at the plate.  Riekie Dutcher led at the plate going 4 for 5 with a homerun, double and 2 singles and scoring 4 times.  Erin Forman was also 4 for 4 at the plate and scored 3 times.

Thursday, July 31st versus Clarkson Scarletts

·         The Hamilton Pontiacs suffered their first loss of the Tri-County League season against the Clarkson Scarlett Intermediates losing 3 to 1.  Amanda Marsh took the loss on the mound and scored the only run for the Pontiacs.

·         The Pontiacs defeated the Iroquois 8 to 0 behind the pitching of Dawn Vanderhorst and Jenny Kells.  Lori Martin scored once and went 1 for 1 with a double with Kris Gordon also scoring once and going 2 for 2 with a triple.
