The Hamilton Pontiacs finished in 1st place in the league standings, however were unable to compete in the league playoffs due to scheduling conflicts with the Eastern Canadians.

Game 3 – Tuesday, May 22, 2007

 

The Hamilton Pontiacs started off their Tri-County League season with an 11 to 5 win against the Clarkson Scarletts behind the pitching of Dawn Vanderhorst and Cathy Rayner.  The first game of the season for the Pontiacs started off rough with the Scarlett’s scoring 3 runs after the Pontiacs got the first two batters out but the Pontiacs rebounded in the bottom of the first inning by scoring 5 of their own runs behind a 3 run scoring triple of Dianne Trask.  The Pontiacs then scored 5 more runs in the bottom of the fourth to break the game open.  Riekie Dutcher led at the plate going 2 for 4, including a triple and scoring twice.

Game 4 – Tuesday, May 29, 2007

Cathy Rayner pitched the Hamilton Pontiacs to a 6 to 5 win against the Port Colborne Commettes in Tri-County League play with 4 strikeouts.  Riekie Dutcher led at the plate going 3 for 3 with a home run and 2 rbi's.  The Pontiacs broke the game open in the 4th inning by scoring 4 runs behind the hitting of Kira Waghorn, Kristy Pearce, Krissy Sebastian and Jen Calbeck.  Riekie homered in the 5th to give the Pontiacs a 6 to 0 lead.  The Commettes came back in the 6th inning scoring 5 runs on 3 Pontiac errors and 1 walk.

Game 5 – Wednesday, May 30, 2007

Hamilton Pontiacs were defeated 2 to 1 by the St. Catharines Juniors in a well-pitched game.  St. Catharines opened the scoring in the 2nd inning with Kristina tripling and then being brought to the plate by Chelsea.  The one run held up until the 6th inning when Johanna Malisani singled and then, with 2 out, was hit in to score by Kris Gordon.  A walk and another triple by Kristina scored the go-ahead run for the St. Catharines Juniors in the 6th.  Aly Freshwater took the loss on the mound for the Pontiacs.

Game 6 – Tuesday, June 5, 2007

           

The Hamilton Pontiacs defeated the Grimsby Intermediates 14 to 2 in Tri-county League play.  Dawn Vanderhorst and Cathy Rayner combined the pitching duties for a 5 hitter with 1 strikeout and 1 walk.  Kathy Sitak led at the plate going 3 for 4 with one walk and scoring three times.  Kristy Pearce also had a good day at the plate going 2 for 4 and scoring twice.  Jen Calbeck homered in the 2nd inning to break the game open with 3 rbi’s.

Game 7 – Tuesday, June 12, 2007

                       

Hamilton Pontiacs defeated the Glanbrook Lions 3 to 0 behind the 2 hit, 1 walk pitching of Alyssa Freshwater.  The Pontiacs scored all three runs in the 3rd inning on a two run scoring triple by Riekie Dutcher and a solo rbi by Kathy Sitak.

Game 9 – Tuesday, June 19, 2007

 

The Pontiacs defeated the Townsend Intermediates 3 to 1.  Dawn Vanderhorst pitched the win giving up one run in the second inning on a walk and two hits.  Cathy Rayner helped the cause scoring once and going 2 for 3 at the plate.  Elizabeth Verbeem also had a good day at the plate going 2 for 4 and scoring once.

Game 10 – Tuesday, June 26, 2007

                       

Pontiacs defeated the Brantford Intermediates 11 to 8 in a seesaw battle behind the pitching of Alyssa Freshwater with relief pitching by Dawn Vanderhorst.  Kris Gordon and Riekie Dutcher both led at the plate each going 3 for 4 with a home run and two singles and scoring three times.  Johanna Malisani also had a good day at the plate with 2 runs scored and going 2 for 4.

Game 11 – Wednesday, June 27, 2007

 

Dawn Vanderhorst pitched a 3 hitter with 8 strikeouts to lead the Pontiacs to an 8 to 0 win against the Fisherville Fossils.  Johanna Malisani and Elizabeth Verbeem led at the plate going 3 for 4 and scoring twice each.  Riekie Dutcher also helped the cause with a triple and scoring twice during the game.

Game 12 – Tuesday, July 3, 2007

The Hamilton Pontiacs defeated the Hamilton Elities 11 to 1 at home behind the pitching of Dianne Trask and Cathy Rayner.  Lori Kostur and Riekie Dutcher led the Pontiac bats each scoring once and tripling in the game while going 2 for 3 at the plate.  Jen Calbeck also went 2 for 3 and scored 3 times.

The Hamilton Pontiacs defeated the St. Catharines Juniors 11 to 2 behind the pitching of Dawn Vanderhorst.   Kris Gordon led at the plate going 4 for 4 and scoring three times with 4 rbi's.  Jen Calbeck, Johanna Malisani and Dawn Vanderhorst also had good days at the plate getting 3 hits each

The Hamilton Pontiacs defeated the Hamilton Hurricanes 18 to 2 in Tri-county league play behind the pitching of Cathy Rayner. Riekie Dutcher lead at the plate going 3 for 3 and scoring three times including a 2 rbi home run. Dawn Vanderhorst also helped the cause going 3 for 3 and scoring twice with Jen Calbeck going 4 for 4 and scoring once with 4 rbi's.

Dawn Vanderhorst pitched a no-hitter giving up one walk in a 10 to 0 shutout win over the Hamilton Elities. Johanna Malisani led at the plate going 3 for 3 and scoring 3 times. Kris Gordon also was 3 for 3 and scored twice.

The Hamilton Pontiacs defeated the Grimsby Devils 7 to 3 behind the pitching of Dawn Vanderhorst.  Riekie Dutcher led at the plate going 4 for 4 and scoring twice with Kira Waghorn also helping the cause tripling and doubling and scoring twice.

Game 17 – Thursday, August 2, 2007

The Hamilton Pontiacs lost to the Hamilton Hurricanes by a score of 7 to 4 in Tri-County League play.  Aly Freshwater took the loss on the mound.  Liz Verbeem led the Pontiacs at the plate going 2 for 2 and Lori Kostur similarly helped the cause as the lead-off batter going 3 for 4.

The Hamilton Pontiacs defeated the Fisherville Lady J's 14 to 4 in Tri-County League play behind the pitching of Aly Freshwater.  Dianne Rrask lead at the plate going 4 for 4 and scoring twice with 4 rbi's.  Jen Calbeck and Krissy Sebastian also helped at the plate each scoring twice and going 2 for 3 at the plate.
