This branch of the Hamilton family is based at Reepham, a small village on the outskirts of Lincoln. We, or at least Melvyn and Brenda, moved here in 1997 from Grimsby, where we left Trevor and Jonathan!! They have since moved on from there as you will see below.
Melvyn Started in Local Authority work as a social worker in 1977 following a series of position within social work and ending up as a Training Officer in Mental Health retires from work as a Senior Training Officer (Clinical) Lincolnshire Partnership NHS Foundation Trust on his 6oth Birthday in Februaryc2008. He transferred on June 1st 2002 to the new 'partnership trust' for mental health managed by the health service.
Outside of work he is a Quaker (see Salvationism to Quakerism) currently being an overseer of Lincoln Meeting. His interest, some would say obsession, with computers is used here as he is 'webservant' for the Lincoln Quakers Web Site and the web site for Lincolnshire Monthly Meeting. He also edits Prism the bi-monthly newsletter for Lincoln Quakers. In his spare time (!) he swims, reads and, as he finds it difficult to say 'no' gets involved in other 'projects'. As well as training others he has been involved in studying for a number of qualification himself, mainly using e-Learning and has completed a a number of courses and qualified within. For a number of years he has been responsible for all the e-[earning in the NHS in Lincolnshire Partnership Trust. Since retiring he has appreciated the different pace of life. He has completed a number of projects. He is currently undertaking the classification and cataloguing of the Quaker Library, helped by Brenda and her professional librarianship. He has also been asked to return to work to complete some of the IT work for them.
