Sometimes
By: J. Michelle House
Sometimes when I'm sad I think of you
The way you make me laugh as if you knew
I've spent my life subdued under a higher force
But now that I am older I live with much remorse
I see him in my nightmares or her with that knife
Just another experience messing up my life
I see us swerving all over the place
Tears fill in my eyes as the memories retrace
No one cares how I feel, no one cares about me
I used to think they did till I was hit with reality
I feel they're on a mission to wear my sad soul down
And all along I gave them the chance
Sometimes I know if you were here
It wouldn't be this way
