Electro-Plasma System
The electro-plasma system (EPS) is a very important part of all federation starships. It is basically a power distribution system, feeding power off the warp core.
The warp core creates a huge amount of plasma in the matter/antimatter reaction. Some of the excess plasma is filtered out from the warp transfer conduits and distributed around the ship in EPS conduits. This plasma contains a very high electrical charge. Ship's systems use this electrical charge as a power source.
