Star Trek : Generations

This movie introduced the world to the Enterprise-B, and it was the first movie to star the Next Generation cast.

In the opening sequence, Kirk is "killed," when he gets sucked into the "Nexus." The next sequence is 80 years later, when Captain Picard promotes Worf to Lt. Commander. The Enterprise-D answers a distress signal from a remote observatory in space. It turns out that the observatory had been attacked by Romulans, and the sole survivor was Dr. Soren.

Dr. Soren quietly launches a solar probe towards a star, while Picard is telling Troi about his emotional pain regarding his nephew and brother's deaths.

The probe destroys the star, and the crew of the Enterprise have to race to stay clear of the shockwave.

After some investigation, Picard and Data discover Soren's plan to get to the Nexus. Picard immediately flies to the star Soren plans to destroy next. Picard fails to stop Soren, and the Enterprise is forced to make an emergency landing because of a Klingon attack.

Picard ends up in the Nexus, and finds Kirk. After some persuasion, Kirk and Picard team up, and return to where Soren was before he entered the Nexus. Soren is defeated, but at the cost of Captain Kirk's life.

All this time, Data has been struggling with his new emotion chip, but now he can handle it well. However, the Enterprise-D can not be salvaged.
