League Results:

The Hamden Fathers Basketball Association opened its 2008-2009 season on Friday December 5, 2008 with exhibition games from both our 9/10 boys and 12/14 girls leagues at the new Hamden Middle school.  We also had our first regular season 11/12 boys game.  The first game of the night was a 9/10 game between the Hamden Greenies and Splash Car Wash.  The Greenies were lead by Nick DeGiacomo, Eric Lloyd and Riley Griffin;  while Splash was highlighted by Marcus Jackson, Sean Brown and Andrew Rice.  Our next game was the first 11/12 game of the season with Primo Pizza winning over Sorrento’s Pizza.  TJ Walters, Kyle Waznis and Jakim Dease led Primo, while AJ Brown-Ortiz, Gibron Okar and Joshua Thompson stood out for Sorrento’s.  To finish out the evening we had action from the girls 12-14 league.  The Hamden Greenies defeated Bruno Massaro 22 -12.

9- 10 Boys

In the HFBA 9-10 Boys league for Saturday December 6, 2008 the Hamden Greenies were defeated by Batters Box 15 – 7.  Batters Box was lead by Stanley Arrington with 6 and Khiry Oliver with 4 points.  The Greenies were supported by Kwadir Delgado-McIntyre and Ken Collins.  NewAlliance Bank was victorious over Eli’s Pizza 17 – 6.  Dylan Bailey, Kyle Fox and Dominic Marquand each had 2 points for NewAlliance while Juwan Weston and Anees Patwa led Eli’s.  Town Fair Tire was victorious over Splash Car Wash 14 – 6.  Ty Hubbard had 8 points and Latrelle Alston had 4 to lead Town Fair,  Derek Sims and Marcus Jackson each had 2 for Splash.  Hamden Auto Parts wins over DiSorbo’s Bakery.  The Auto Parts were lead by Tarik Black, Demetrius Burgess and Muhammed Akhdar, while DeSean Schwen, Jamar Richardson and Noah Carroll helped support DiSorbo’s.

 

 

11- 12 Boys

In the HFBA 11-12 Boys League the Unitas Club came back in the fourth quarter to defeat Kingdom Empowerment 26 – 22.  Unitas was lead by Matt Hamilton with 10 points and Jordon Cerino with 8; while Ahmed Hassan had 10 pints and DJ Fowlin scored 4. Fitch St Getty pours it on in the second half to squeeze by Primo Pizza 23 – 21.  Fitch St was lead by KiShawn Delgado-McIntyre with 9 points and Richard Grant with 8.  TJ Walters had 15 and Kyle Waznis had 2 to lead Primo.  Ercolano Cleaning was victorious over Sorrento’s Pizza 29 - 12.  Ercolano was lead by Robert Brown with 12  and Josiah Reynolds with 6.  Sorrento’s was lead by Xavier Ward with 4 points and Joshua Thompson with 2.

In the season opener, JD Environmental led by Ashley Arroyo’s 8 points, defeated Hamden Town House 14-8. Also scoring for JD Environmental were Lauren Browning 4 points and Avaree Carmona 2 points. Leading the way for Hamden Town House were Jessica Taylor, Asha Hall, Kayla Venditto and Ryenne Carpenter all with 2 points each.

 

In a thrilling and exciting game, Janelle Cooper hit a jumper in the second overtime to give NewAlliance Bank a 21-19 lead and they held on for a 21-20 victory over Apex Pharmacy and Homecare. Cooper led NewAlliance Bank with 15 points while Abby McVerry added 4 points and Hailey Trasacco had 2 points. Leading the way for Apex Pharmacy and Homecare was Lauren Singleton with 7 points. Also scoring for Apex was Charity Hammond with 6 point, Domini’que Burgess 4 points, Adaobi Okoro 2 and Veronica Nyantakyi 1 point.   

 

12-14 Year Old Girls

 

          Nicole Anderson had a game high 20 points to lead Partyka Chevrolet to a 34-25 victory over Bruno Massaro and Sons. Also scoring for Partyka was Danielle Wendland 6 points, Mikaela Canning and Amani Richardson with 4 points each. Leading the way for Bruno Massaro and Sons was April Uzzle with 10 points, Charleese Smith 9 points and Imani Canton 6 points..

 

          Hamden Greenies, led by Ashley Taylor with 8 points defeated Sullivan & Son Carpet 22-18.  Also scoring for the Greenies were Kara Waznis with 6 points, Shayna Mills and Laneshia Porter with 4 points each. Sullivan & Son Carpet was led by Alivia Wilson with 11 points while Brianna Powell had 4 points, Brittany Needham 2 points and Avery  Owers 1 point.

9-11 Year Old Girls

 

Janelle Cooper scored a game high 16 points to lead NewAlliance Bank to a 26-6 win over Hamden Town House. Abby McVerry 6 points and Hailey Trasacco 4 points rounded out the scoring for NewAlliance Bank. Chasade Greene led the way for Hamden Town House with 4 points and Jessica Taylor added 2 points.

 

Lauren Singleton and Domini’que Burgess each scored 6 points to lead Apex Pharmacy & Homecare to a 20-2 victory over JD Environmental. Kylie Miller and 3 others added 2 points a piece for Apex Pharmacy & Homecare. Ashley Arroyo scored 2 points for JD Environmental   

 

12-14 Year Old Girls

 

            Shayna Mills scored 8 points to lead Hamden Greenies, to a 23-20 victory over Bruno Massaro & Sons. Also scoring for the Greenies were Kara Waznis 5 points, Ashley Taylor 4 points, Taylor Campano, Camila Garcia-Millan and Laneshia Porter all with 2 points. Bruno Massaro & Sons was led by Imani Canton with 12 points, Charleese Smith 5 points, April Uzzle 2 points and Veneise Mendez 1 point.

 

 Partyka Chevrolet, led by Nicole Anderson with 17 points defeated Sullivan & Son Carpet 26-22.  Also scoring for Partyka was Amani Richardson with 7 points and Danielle Wendland with 2 points. Sullivan & Son Carpet was led by Brittany Needham with 10 points while Alivia Wilson had 6 points, Avery Owers 3 points, Brianna Powell 2 points and Ashley Girola 1 point.

9-11 Year Old Girls

 

Lauren Browning scored a game high 10 points to lead JD Environmental to a 16-10 victory over Hamden Town House. Ashley Arroyo added 6 points for JD Environmental. Leading the way for Hamden Town House were Ryenne Carpenter with 6 points and Chasade Greene with 4 points.

 

Apex Pharmacy & Homecare led by Lauren Singleton with 10 points defeated NewAlliance Bank 19-10. Also scoring for Apex Pharmacy were Domini’que Burgess with 4 points, Charity Hammond and Jamie Shoemaker both with 2 points. Leading the way for NewAlliance Bank was Janelle Cooper with 8 points and Essence Riley with 2 points.

 

In a make-up game player Jan. 3rd, JD Environmental edged out NewAlliance Bank 12-10 in an exciting and well played game. Lauren Browning scored 2 of her 6 points in the forth quarter to put JD Environmental ahead and JD shut down NewAlliance Bank in the second half. Also scoring for JD Environmental was Ashley Arroyo with 6 points. Janelle Cooper and Abby McVerry each scored 4 points for NewAlliance Bank and Hailey Trasacco added 2 points.

 

12-14 Year Old Girls

 

Led by Nicole Anderson with 20 points, Partyka Chevrolet beat Bruno Massaro and Sons 26-18. Also scoring for Partyka were Mikaela Canning with 4 points and Amani Richardson with 2 points. Scoring for Bruno Massaro & Sons were Imani Canton with 10 points, April Uzzle with 4 points, Veneise Mendez and Breana Parker both with 2 points.

9-11 Year Old Girls

 

Janelle Cooper had a game high 14 points to lead NewAlliance Bank to a 21-4 victory over Hamden Town House. Also scoring for NewAlliance Bank was Essence Riley with 4 points and Hailey Trasacco with 2 points. Scoring for Hamden Town House was Asha Hall and Ryenne Carpenter with 2 points each.

 

Domini’que Burgess led Apex Pharmacy & Homecare over JD Environmental 14-8. Burgess scored 6 points while Lauren Singleton scored 4 points and both Kylie Miller and Charity Hammond added 2 points each. Leading the way for JD Environmental was Lauren Browning with 4 points, Mia Gadson and Ashley Arroyo both with 2 points.

 

12-14 Year Old Girls

 

Nicole Andersons’ 16 points led Partyka Chevrolet to a thrilling 26-24 win over Sullivan & Son Carpet. Also scoring for Partyka were Amani Richardson and Danielle Wendland with 4 points each and Mikaela Canning with 2 points. Leading the way for Sullivan & Son Carpet were Brittany Needham and Alivia Wilson with 8 points each, Nandi Carter with 4 points, Grace Kiley and Avery Owers 2 points each.

 

Ashley Taylor scored a game high 10 points to lead Hamden Greenies to a 24-14 win over Bruno Massaro & Sons. Laneshia Porter 6 points, Shayna Mills 5 points and Camila Garcia-Millan 3 points rounded out the scoring for Hamden Greenies. Alysia Carrero and Charleese Smith both scored 6 points for Bruno Massaro and Sons while Kelly Butricks added 2 points.

9-11 Year Old Girls

 

Apex Pharmacy & Homecare behind 10 points from Lauren Singleton defeated Hamden Town House 16-3. Also scoring for Apex was Domini’que Burgess with 4 points and Charity Hammond 2 points. Chasade Greene 2 points and Jessica Taylor 1 point led the way for Hamden Town House.

 

Janelle Cooper hit a jumper with one minute left in the forth quarter as NewAlliance Bank won a defensive game 10-8 over JD Environmental. Cooper ended the game with 4 points along with Hailey Trasacco. Abby McVerry added 2 points. Leading the way for JD Environmental was Ashley Arroyo with 4 points while Mia Gadson and Lauren Browning both added 2 points.

 

In the 9-11 year old girls All Star game, the Gold Team beat the Green Team 17-11. Scoring for the Gold Team was Ashley Arroyo 6 points, Janelle Cooper 5 points, Hailey Trasacco 4 points and Essence Riley with 2 points. Scoring for the Green Team was Lauren Singleton 7 points, Domini’que Burgess and Adaobi Okoro both with 2 points.

 

12-14 Year Old Girls

 

Partyka Chevrolet remained undefeated with a 37-35 win over Hamden Greenies. Nicole Anderson scored 27 points to lead Partyka Chevrolet while Amani Richardson scored 8 points and Julieta Garcia-Millan had 2 points. Leading the way for the Greenies was Kara Waznis, 11 points, Laneshia Porter and Ashley Taylor both with 10 points and Camila Garcia-Millan 4 points.

 

Bruno Massaro & Sons, led by Alysia Carrero with 9 points beat Sullivan & Son Carpet 21-13. Also scoring for Bruno Massaro was Imani Canton 6 points, Charleese Smith 4 points and April Uzzle 2 points. Leading the way for Sullivan & Son Carpet was Alivia Wilson with 4 points, Brittany Needham 3 points, Grace Kiley, Ashley Girola and Nandi Carter all with 2 points each.

 

In the 12-14 year old girls All Star Game, the Green Team beat the Gold Team 37-33. Scoring for the Green Team was Nicole Anderson 12 points, Alivia Wilson 11 points, Brittany Needham 9 points, Amani Richardson 4 points and Grace Kiley 1 point. Scoring for the Gold Team was Laneshia Porter 12 points, Shayna Mills 6 points, Kara Waznis 5 points, Alysia Carrero 4 points, Charleese Smith 3 points, Imani Canton 2 points and Ashley Taylor 1 point.

9-11 Year Old Girls

 

JD Environmental led by 4 points each from Lauren Browning and Ashley Arroyo defeated Hamden Town House 12-6 Erynne Browning and Mia Gadson both added 2 points. Chasade Greene led Town House with 4 points and Ryenne Carpenter had 2 points.

 

Lauren Singleton scored with less that a minute in the game to put Apex Pharmacy & Homecare up 10-9 and they held on to beat NewAlliance Bank in a thriller. Singleton led Apex with 8 points and Kylie Miller added 2 points. Janelle Cooper led NewAlliance Bank with 7 points and Hailey Trasacco added 2 points.

 

12-14 Year Old Girls

 

 Partyka Chevrolet defeated Bruno Massaro & Sons 27-20 behind Nicole Andersons 21 points Danielle Wendland scored 4 points for Partyka and Sydney Carr added 2 points. Scoring for Bruno Massaro was Charleese Smith 8 points, Kelly Butricks 6 points, April Uzzle 4 points and Imani Canton 2 points.

 

Avery Owers scored a game high 10 points as Sullivan & Son Carpet beat Hamden Greenies 34-13. Also scoring for Sullivan & Son was Ashley Girola and Brittany Needham both with 8 points, Alivia Wilson 4 points, Nandi Carter and Brianna Powell 2 points each. Leading the way for Hamden Greenies was Ashley Taylor with 6 points, Shayna Mills 5 points and Camila Garcia-Millan with 2 points.

 

In a make game, Alivia Wilson led Sullivan & Son Carpet to their first win of the year in a 21-8 victory over Bruno Massaro & Sons. Wilson led Sullivan with 8 points while Avery Owers added 7 points, Brittany Needham 4 points and Nandi Carter 2 points. Alysia Carrero led Bruno Massaro with 6 points and Charleese Smith added 2 points.

 

In a second make up game, Partyka Chevrolet was victorious over Hamden Greenies 33-28. Nicole Anderson led Partyka with 23 points while Danielle Wendland scored 6 points, Kristen Riello and Mikaela Canning both added 2 points. Laneshia Porter led the way for the Greenies with 15 points, Shayna Mills scored 6 points, Taylor Campano and Camila Garcia-Millan each had 3 points and Ashley Taylor 1 point.
