The Savill Cup is run as a ladder competition using all normal
matchpointed pairs results for Fridays i.e. handicap rounds excepted.
The competition runs from 1st June to 31st May.
Victory points are awarded on the basis of :-
3 for 1st, 2 for 2nd and 1 for 3rd in each direction in two winner movements
3 for 1st and 2nd, 2 for 3rd and 4th, and 1 for 5th and sixth in one winner
movements. In the case of ties full points are awarded (no halves).
The trophy is awarded to the player with the best 10 scores. In the case of ties
the total VPs is used to decide the winner. Most years the tie break is needed.
Early in the year the full table is listed. Once the table becomes too
large only the higher ranking players will be listed.
