D20 Critical Fumbles
Crtitcal Fumbles: A roll of 1 on the d20 during melee provokes an attack of opportunity against whoever fumbled. This attack of opportunity counts against the number a character can take per round.
For example Tordek is fighting two ogres. On his action Tordek attacks and rolls a 1 on the dice thus provoking an attack of opportunity. Both ogres get to roll an attack on Tordek. Later the same round Edgar moves up and casts a cure light wounds on Tordek and doesn't provoke an attack of opportunity from the ogres even though he's casting a spell in the ogres threat range because the ogres already took the attack of opportunity against Tordek for the fumble.
