Null Bomb |
| The null bomb, as indicated by its name, is not meant to kill, merely to nullify the Force over a large area. Admittedly, it would be a severely limited weapon as it would only be useful against large numbers of Jedi and other Force-senstives. However, given that the number of Jedi has been steadily on the rise ever since the fall of the Empire, a weapon such as the null bomb could prove to be invaluable. The idea has also been brought up if the null bomb would really be worth the effort to develop. After all, why focus on making such a limited weapon when a normal bomb could deal with the Jedi just as well or better? The answer is twofold, for one, killing the Jedi may not always be the best solution, and two, battlefield conditions can easily become chaotic as soldiers from different armies mix it up in battle. Dropping a null bomb on these kind of conditions would not harm Oremins soldiers, but it would still work against the Jedi. Research into developing this weapon has been cursory at best as it depends on the breakthroughs yet to happen from either the Ysalamiri Project or the Black Hole Project. Still, some early computer models predict that the nulling effect caused by the bomb would merely be temporary, the duration of the effect and the area affected have yet to be determined. |
