| Halloween II Picking up right where the last movie left off, we find Dr. Loomis in desperate search for Michael Myers. Meanwhile, Laurie Strode has been taken to a nearby hospital to recover from her injuries and shock. However, Laurie wont get to rest long, as Michael has set his sights on finishing what he started with her friends. However, Laurie discovers a terrifying secret that Michael is after her for a specific reason shes his step sister! This was something hidden from her at a very young age, even though she remembers images of a young boy in her dreams. And so, the horrifying ordeal continues for Laurie, as Michael cuts through patients and doctors in his relentless search of her. And just as Michael has Laurie cornered, Dr. Loomis once again comes to her rescue, leading a way for her to escape. Loomis tries to battle Michael with all his effort, but is overpowered. But as Michael is about to chase after Laurie, Loomis lets loose a gas tank and blows up himself and Michael! Laurie stumbles outside, bruised and battered, and is tended to by a neighbouring ambulance and police team. Meanwhile, in the hospital, Michael and his deathly white mask burn in a hellish inferno. Reflection Now there are some that dont like the sequel, as they feel it becomes more of a slasher / blood fest rather than a creepy thriller. And there are very much right, but the film still works quite well on that level. Where the film really delivers is in the sub-plot where Laurie discovers Michael is her brother a truly shocking discovery that opens up the Halloween mythology and gives Michael some twisted motivation. The climax is also quite good, with Loomis realising the only way to stop this monster is to sacrifice his own life. |
