| ERIC HIERS: This is the sequel right now. The one Halloween fans had been waited for twenty years. In the string of bad sequels, there finally came one that lived up to the original. The film ignores the events of Halloweens 4- 6 (making this one Halloween 3). The film opens with Marion Whittington (Nancy Stephens), Michael Myers nurse from the first two films, at her home in Langdon, Illinois. Michael comes along and gets the file on Laurie Strode (Jamie Lee Curtis), who is believed to be dead. Michael learns she is not dead and makes his way to her California home and terrorizes her and her son, John (Josh Hartnett) and his friends at the posh private school they attend. In the halls, Michael chases John and his girlfriend, Molly (Michelle Williams) through the halls of the school, until Laurie finds them and the face of good and the face of evil meet again (as the trailer said.) There, Laurie decides shes not going to run from him anymore. She decides shes going to face him to the death. The suspense starts and doesnt end until the credits. This film could have been the perfect end to the saga. It was almost perfect. Its only flaw is the fact that Michaels mask seems to change in every take. That really good annoying. Also the music of the film was mostly recycled music from Scream, Scream 2, and Mimic. Plus, John Ottmons (the composer) version of The Shape Stalks sucked. Aside from these flaws, the film was great. The only thing that could have made this movie better was if Donald Pleasence was in it (sadly he had been dead for three years) and the fact it was not sequelized. I thought if they wanted to do another Halloween, finish the story where Halloween 6 left off and leave this great movie alone. **** RANK: 2 out of 8 DEREK SHARP: The third and final chapter of the series or so many fans thought, sets the stage for what looks like the final showdown between Laurie and Michael. By far this is one of my favorites because it ends Laurie's problems and sets what looked like a great ending for the series. But is it? |
