ERIC HIERS: The now eighth film (or should I say fourth film) in the classic saga.  It opens at a sanitarium, where Laurie Strode (Jamie Lee Curtis) is staying.  Seems she didnt kill Michael like she thought and in fact killed a paramedic.  She has become pretty much silent and catatonic in the nurses eyes, like her brother was those many years ago.  Of course, its all just an act and Michael comes along and kills two guards and eventually her.  The scene actually had my eyes watery.  Michael returns to his home in Haddonfield to find a reality themed film crew in his house.  The characters are pretty cliched, but the three lead characters were meaty characters.  I actually felt bad when Michael chased and killed (one or two of them).  The lead, Sara (Bianca Kajlich) was your good heroine that these Halloweens always have (except 3 and 6).  Her two friends, Jenn (Katee Sackhoff), the wacky blonde best friend, and Rudy (Sean Patrick Thomas), the chef wannabe, were great also.  Jenn is not the silly slut she appears to be in the trailer and Rudy is not just the token black guy.  The other characters did not really appeal to me much, simply because they didnt last long enough to care about them.  Of course when they died, I was like, oh, thats messed up.  Oh well.  Now this film is not flawless.  It has a good number of flaws, namely the ending and Busta Rhymes.  Im sorry, but I did not like his character much.  His scenes with Michael kind of pissed me off.  Michael could have and should have wasted him on several occasions.  Other than the flaws I mentioned, I liked it.  It was a good, scary (especially the beginning) sequel that really lives up to the original.
