than SCREAMING.
FLASHES
OF MICHAEL WALKING TOWARDS THE CAMERA.
CUT TO:
KARA STRODE, who is running with DANNY, her
son
towards the front door of the house. KARA holds a
crying
baby in her other hand.
KARA
Get out
of here, Danny.
SHE HANDS
DANNY THE BABY.
DANNY
I will,
mommy.
KARA
I love
you.
DANNY
Love you,
too.
DANNY
takes off out the front door and runs with the
baby in
his hands.
KARA
looks back around and picks up a fire poker and
holds it
like a baseball bat. She walks down a dark
hallway, slowly,
checking in every room.
KARA(to
herself)
Where are
you?
THE
FLOORBOARDS CREAK AS SHE STEPS. FROM BEHIND...
THE BACK
DOOR SUDDENLY FLIES OPEN. KARA turns and
swings
but hits nothing. She relaxes and tenses back
up.
FROM THE
SHADOWS OF ANOTHER ROOM, A MAN IN THE BLACK
STANDS,
not moving, just watching. KARA walks back,
not even
noticing him.
VOICE
The child
will be ours...
KARA
turns and looks back. Nothing.
KARA
continues walking until she makes it to the
backdoor.
There the fall leaves are scattered across
the
ground and the trees hide anything that moves in
darkness.
KARA(to
herself)
Great!
Not your best move, girl.
KARA
starts to walk slowly through but...
MICHAEL
appears from the shadows with his kitchen
knife
ready. KARA turns and strikes him with the
fire
poker but MICHAEL doesn't even move, he grabs
KARA with
one hand and picks her up by her neck. She
drops the
fire poker and screams(the camera pulls back
to
DANNY.)
DANNY is
running as fast as he can with the baby in
his hands
but DANNY is stopped by THE MAN IN BLACK.
VOICE
Don't
run, child.
DANNY
runs in the other direction to find MICHAEL
standing
at the other end. DANNY freezes and DARKNESS
engulfs
the camera.
CUT TO:
OPENING CREDITS
TITLECARD
CUT TO:
TOMMY DOYLE flipping through a newspaper from
the
HADDONFIELD TRIBUNE, that reads: DR. LOOMIS
MISSING?!
THE
CAMERA PULLS BACK TO HIS WALL, which is covered
in old
newspapers, that bear story of MICHAEL's
appearances
and stories surrounding him.
IN THE
BACKGROUND, TOMMY's TV is on the local news.
REPORTER
Just
hours ago, cops reported to the house of Kara
Strode...
TOMMY
turns to the TV.
REPORTER
...where
neighbors told us, they heard screaming from
the
background. Matthew Roberts, a neighbor
investigated.
TV CUTS
TO: ROBERT.
ROBERT
I found
her lifeless...her body...had...been
stabbed....blood
was everywhere...
CUT BACK
TO: TOMMY getting up, grabbing his jacket
and
heading out the door.
KARA
STRODE'S HOUSE, DAY. THE POLICE HAVE YELLOW
TAPE IN
FRONT OF THE HOUSE but no one appears to be
around
except one empty cop car.
TOMMY
goes under the line and runs up the house steps.
He looks
around and still finds no one.
TOMMY
Anybody
here?
No
answer.
TOMMY
walks into the living room to find nothing. He
turns and
continues outside into the backyard, where
he finds
a lone cop standing over an patch of grass,
where a
symbol-A THORN has been burned into the
ground.
The COP turns and looks at TOMMY.
COP
Who are
you?
TOMMY
Tommy
Doyle, officer.
COP
What are
you doing here?
TOMMY
I knew
the people, that lived here.
COP
Then I
recommend you get away from the crime scene.
TOMMY
Why?
COP
Do it or
I'm putting you under arrest. Understood?
TOMMY
turns and heads out the way he came in. (The
camera
pulls back from the yard and stares down at the
symbol.)
CUT BACK
TO: TOMMY as he pulls out a camera from his
coat
pocket. He lays against a wall on a neighbor's
house,
waiting for the cop to leave.
FADE TO
BLACK.
FADE BACK
IN TO: KARA'S HOUSE, NIGHT. The cops car
pulls out
and TOMMY waits until it vanishes down the
street.
TOMMY moves out slowly and moves under the
yellow
tape and follows the same path, he used before
to get to
the backyard. When he gets to the backyard
he stops
and lifts up his camera and starts
recording.
TOMMY
Date is
Strode's
backyard, where the Thorn symbol appears to
be burned
into place.
Something
shifts behind TOMMY and TOMMY turns to look
back but
nothings there. TOMMY shuts the camera off
and
follows the stairs up to the window, where he
gets a
wide shot of the symbol.
TOMMY(to
himself)
Their
back.
FLASH.
THE THORN SYMBOL BURNED INTO THE BALES OF HAY
FROM
CURSE OF MICHAEL MYERS'.
TOMMY
turns and heads out the door and stops to see if
anyone
watching. No one is so he goes under the tape
and
starts walking back to his house.
FLASH.
TOMMY as a kid walking and noticing something
watching
him. He starts to run.
FLASH.
MICHAEL stopping him. TOMMY looking up into
his eyes.
FLASH.
TOMMY(adult) attacks MICHAEL with a pipe and
starts
hitting him.
FLASH.
MICHAEL's face looking up at him.
FLASH.
TOMMY moving away.
FLASH.
MICHAEL getting back up and stabbing TOMMY
from
behind.
CUT TO:
TOMMY'S ROOM, DAY. He screams and climbs up
from bed.
He's sweating and breathing hard. He looks
at his
alarm clock-10:00 am.
He walks
over to his computer and looks at the MICHAEL
MYERS'
screen saver, that graces the screen.
TOMMY(to
the computer)
Your
back, aren't you?
THE
TELEPHONE rings in his room.
TOMMY
Hello?
Who's this?
VOICE(on
the other end)
I'm Logan
Carpenter from the HADDONFIELD TRIBUNE, is
this
Tommy Doyle?
TOMMY
Yes, this
is he.
LOGAN
Well, as
I understand it...you were witness to the
Laurie
Strode-Michael Myers' attack in 1978. Right?
TOMMY
Yes, Mr.
Carpenter.
LOGAN
Did you
know that what happened last night to Kara
Strode
was connected to what happened to Laurie
Strode?
TOMMY
It was a
possibility.
LOGAN
Well,
I've got actual proof.
TOMMY
How?
LOGAN
I found
something in County records, that the people
at
Smith's Grove were keeping from the public's eyes.
TOMMY
Why
should I trust you?
LOGAN
Because
I'm the only one, that knows the truth about
Michael
Myers'.
TOMMY
looks up in a blank stare.
COFFEE
SHOP ON MAIN STREET, DAY. TOMMY sits and
LOGAN
CARPENTER hands him a stack of files.
TOMMY
Let me
get this straight, you tracked me down online.
LOGAN
I've got
my sources.
TOMMY
So, what
do you know that I don't?
LOGAN
For one,
Doctor Loomis wasn't told everything he
should
have.
TOMMY
Like
what?
LOGAN
Smith's
Grove helped let Michael Myers' out in the
80s.
TOMMY
So it
wasn't an accident.
LOGAN
Not
according to these.
TOMMY
flips through the files.
LOGAN
Keep the
files, I've got a feeling you'll need them.
TOMMY
I can't.
LOGAN
There
copies. Keep them.
TOMMY
What if I
need to contact you again?
LOGAN
hands him a piece of paper.
LOGAN
It's got
my beeper, cell phone number and e-mail on
it. So
I'll be in contact at all times, if you need
me? Oh,
and sorry about your friend, Kara. I've
got a
feeling the kids are still out there though.
TOMMY
Why's
that?
LOGAN
Just a
gut feeling.
TOMMY
You know
more than your letting off aren't you?
LOGAN
Truthfully,
I went to the scene myself, found no
evidence
pointing towards the kids being killed. But
I think
there's something more to it than what I saw?
TOMMY
Look, we
need to talk. Do you know what we're
dealing
with here, don't you?
CUT TO:
TOMMY'S ROOM, DAY.
TOMMY
Michael
Myers' murdered his sister in cold bold on
Halloween
1963. As a child he was admitted to Smith's
Grove
sanitarium, where he would remain for most of
his life
until Halloween of 1978. On that day, he
broke
free and then started chasing after Laurie
Strode on
the night, she was baby-sitting me.
LOGAN
But
Strode survived and later died in a car crash.
Then
Michael started coming after Jamie, her
daughter.
Yea, I know the story...but the
information
I spoke of is in that folder.
TOMMY
If it is
show me.
LOGAN
digs into the folder and pulls out a file and
hands it
to TOMMY.
TOMMY
"On
the following morning after Oct. 31, police
searched
the grounds of Smith's Grove but found
nothing
out of the ordinary except a Michael Myers'
mask and
a jacket, that is believed to belong to Sam
Loomis."
LOGAN
Read
on...
TOMMY
"Also,
blood was found on the floors of the operation
rooms but
there was no body found."
LOGAN
Something
is amiss...
TOMMY
Yea, but
was does that have to do with the
connection?
LOGAN
I think
Doctor Loomis is dead but he knew something
more than
he told us.
TOMMY
Then we
don't need the papers.
TOMMY
tosses them.
TOMMY
We've got
my information.(TOMMY points to his wall.)
LOGAN
No! Are
you nuts, that information came straight
from
Smith's Grove.
TOMMY
Fine,
you'll keep it.
TOMMY
pulls it out and tosses it to him.
LOGAN
I think I
know where the kids are at?
TOMMY
Where?
CUT TO:
SMITH'S GROVE, NIGHT. TOMMY stands and
watches
as LOGAN opens up a lock with a lockpick.
FROM
BEHIND MICHAEL watches as the door opens and
TOMMY and
LOGAN step in.
TOMMY
Why here?
LOGAN
Everything
just seems to fit, The Thorn symbol in the
yard plus
your story.
TOMMY
I didn't
tell you my story.
LOGAN
It's in
the records.
TOMMY
That
would explain, why you know a little too much.
LOGAN
It comes
with the job.
TOMMY
That's
good to know but I wouldn't trust you with me
life.
LOGAN
Make you
feel any better, I wouldn't either. I mean
you've
got to be sadistic or something after seeing
Michael
Myers'.
MICHAEL
continues to walk by in the shadows of the
basement.
TOMMY
Look,
we're here to find the kids, that's it and
I'll
never see you again. So you don't have to be
rude.
LOGAN
Remind me
of that later. When I actually care.
TOMMY
You care
about something or you wouldn't be here.
LOGAN
How do
you figure?
TOMMY
Well, for
one you've got to have a reason for
tracking
me down and giving me that information.
LOGAN
Maybe I
knew something you didn't.
TOMMY
That
would explain, why you brought me here. You
know the
kids are here, don't you?
LOGAN
No, I
don't.
TOMMY
It seems
like it. You've been leading me in a circle
for the
last hour over conversation and you finally
came up
with Smith's Grove.
LOGAN
Maybe I
put two and two together.
TOMMY
If you
did I'm amazed reporter because this takes more
than
that.
WHISPERS
can be heard in a nearing hallway.
LOGAN
Shut up!
Will you?
TOMMY
quiets down and turns to see a group of two guys
in a
uniforms walk by.
TOMMY
That was
close.
LOGAN
It would
have been even closer if you didn't shut up.
TOMMY
Thanks,
looks like I owe you one.
LOGAN
So you
do.
LOGAN
moves into the hallway first and checks to see
if anyone
is around.
LOGAN
Look, now
it's just a matter of finding the kids. I
think we
should split up?
TOMMY
Fine, you
follow the guards-I'll go this way.
LOGAN
If you
find anything, use a phone and beep me.
TOMMY
I'll do
that.
TOMMY
walks off into the shadows and LOGAN starts to
slowly
follow the guards but MICHAEL comes from the
shadows
and grabs onto his head and starts bashing
against
the wall until LOGAN falls to the floor.
CUT TO:
TOMMY following a corridor and walking into a
MAXIMUM
SECURITY section, that is blocked by bars but
it is
wide open. He walks in slowly checking the
area,
nothing seems to be out of the ordinary.
TOMMY
Anybody
down here?
NO
ANSWER.
TOMMY
walks through and checks his surrounds and
notices a
THORN symbol on the wall.
TOMMY
Great...
TOMMY
turns and walks straight into MICHAEL, who know
holds a
knife in his hand. TOMMY starts slowly
backing
up and MICHAEL follows. TOMMY starts running
but
MICHAEL is following TOMMY with no trouble at all.
TOMMY
turns down a hall but it ends up leading deeper
into the
MAXIMUM SECURITY area, where the halls
become
nothing but bars.
TOMMY
looks back to look at MICHAEL but he's not
there.
TOMMY
No...
TOMMY
starts running again in the direction, he was
headed
and...
LOGAN
appears out of from the side. His face is
bruised
and bloody.
TOMMY
You okay?
LOGAN
Does it
look like it?
TOMMY
What
happened?
LOGAN
Met up
with Michael. What does it look like?
TOMMY
You met
death and he apparently wanted you dead.
LOGAN
Very
funny.
TOMMY
How'd you
get down here?
LOGAN
Can you
ask questions later?
MICHAEL's
shadow crosses the screen. TOMMY and LOGAN
start
running again in the direction, TOMMY was
headed.
TOMMY
Now,
where?
LOGAN
The exit.
TOMMY
Better
question, where's the exit?
LOGAN
The kids?
TOMMY
I don't
think the kids are here.
LOGAN
Then
why'd we even come?
TOMMY
Talk,
later. Run now.
MICHAEL's
kitchen knife scrapes against the bars.
LOGAN
Take the
left route.
TOMMY
That I
can agree on.
They
cross through and MICHAEL nearly hits them with
his
knife. TOMMY is the first to make it to the door
and try
it but it's locked.
LOGAN
Time for
the lockpick...again.
LOGAN
pushes TOMMY aside and TOMMY grabs a taser,
that sits
near the door. TOMMY turns toward MICHAEL
and
charges toward him with the taser. MICHAEL
stands,
not moving as the taser hits him.
TOMMY
Where are
the kids, Michael?
MICHAEL
knocks the taser out of his hand grabs onto
TOMMY by
his neck and forces him up against the bars.
LOGAN
opens the door and turns back to see TOMMY being
held up
by MICHAEL. LOGAN looks for anything to pick
up but
there's nothing except a piece of broken bar,
that he
picks up.
LOGAN
Michael!
MICHAEL
turns and looks at LOGAN.
LOGAN
You
killed my brother, now it's my turn.
LOGAN
strikes MICHAEL with the bar but MICHAEL doesn't
budge.
LOGAN
Why won't
you quit? Is it a family matter or are you
just
nuts? Or maybe it's both.
LOGAN
strikes MICHAEL's arm and TOMMY falls to the
ground.
TOMMY
grabs the taser and strikes MICHAEL with it.
MICHAEL
strikes TOMMY with his knife in the arm.
TOMMY
screams for a second and starts running in the
direction
of the door.
TOMMY
We must
get out of here.
LOGAN
Agreed,
but what about the kids?
VOICE
They are
not here.
TOMMY
What?
Who?
VOICE
They are
safe...for now.
LOGAN
It's
coming from the intercom.
TOMMY
Where's
the main connection?
LOGAN
The
office.
TOMMY and
LOGAN start running toward the office but
first
they have to climb the stairs, which goes up
three
floors and intersects in a hallway but by the
time,
they get to the office, the only thing in the
office is
a piece of paper turned upside down with
R.I.P. on
it. TOMMY turns it over and reveals it to
be a
DOCTOR LOOMIS photo.
TOMMY
shuts the office door and pulls the fire alarm
and
relaxes against the wall.
TOMMY
The cops
will be here shortly.
LOGAN
And
Michael?
TOMMY
Gone but
he'll be back.
LOGAN
You
positive?
TOMMY
Evil
never dies, Logan. Evil never dies.
FADE TO
BLACK.
CUT TO:
HADDONFIELD TRIBUNE, DAY. LOGAN is sitting
at his
desk, flipping through the folder.
VOICE(TOMMY)
Can I
speak to you for a second?
LOGAN
Yea, feel
free.
TOMMY(sitting
down in another chair)
I think I
figured out the photo?
LOGAN
What does
it mean?
TOMMY
Loomis
was killed.
LOGAN
By who?
TOMMY
The Thorn
or Michael.
LOGAN
Connected?
TOMMY
Have been
since the beginning.
LOGAN
Nothing
on the kids.
TOMMY
No.
LOGAN
What
about the guy on the intercom?
TOMMY
Nothing,
that I could find. I can only assume, he's
trying to
help us.
LOGAN
The
question is who?
TOMMY
Better
yet, why?
LOGAN
Don't
know.
TOMMY
Sorry
about your brother.
LOGAN
It
happens...I mean this Haddonfield, right?
TOMMY
Look, if
it makes you feel any better. I need an
ally-someone
that knows Haddonfield as well as I do,
to help
me figure out and find a way to stop the Thorn
and
Michael Myers'.
LOGAN
That's an
intriguing offer in all, I mean, I gave
you all
the information I know but...
TOMMY
But what?
You'll have the chance to save someone
else's
life before they become dead like your brother.
LOGAN
Yea, I
realize that but we don't know how to stop
him...
TOMMY
Yet.
We'll just search the files-see who can help us.
LOGAN
Sounds
like you got a plan?
TOMMY
I came
prepared. Those kids lives are in danger. You
in or are
you out?
LOGAN
In.
CUT TO:
MICHAEL standing in the Smith's Grove.
VOICE
Things
are far from over. Rest Halloween is a few
days
away...
MICHAEL
looks up into the light.
VOICE
Then you
can have your revenge on Tommy Doyle and
Halloween
will be yours again.
FLASH.
THE THORN SYMBOL burnt into the yard.
VOICE
Rest my
child. Rest.
FADE TO BLACK.
DARKNESS than SCREAMING.
FLASHES OF MICHAEL WALKING
TOWARDS THE CAMERA.
CUT TO: DAVID HARGROVE, driving down the street on a
rainy night. The Sister Machine Gun
song, "Deeper Down" is blasting out of his speakers.
SUPERIMPOSE: A Few Miles
Outside Smith's Grove,
CUT TO: DAVID, still
driving.
PAN DOWN TO THE PASSENGER'S
SEAT TO SEE A FILE THAT READS- HADDONFIELD MASSACRE 1978.
DAVID
"Dave, could you take
this file over to Smith's Grove?"
"Yeah Laney, anything for you” God, why do I have to such a nice
guy? It's going to the death of me.
A CAR BROKEN DOWN ON THE
SIDE OF THE ROAD WITH HIS LIGHTS FLASHING COMES INTO VIEW.
DAVID slows down his car and
parks behind the broken down car. He
pulls his slicker hood over his head and gets out of the car. He walks over to the car and sees a man
sitting in the dark on the driver's side.
DAVID
You need any help buddy?
The man doesn't move.
DAVID
Buddy?
DAVID opens the door and the
hood light comes on. The man was sitting
there dead with a huge kitchen knife shoved in the side of his face.
DAVID gasps and the man
drops to the ground.
DAVID
What the...
THE SHAPE appears behind
DAVID. DAVID turns around to run, but
THE SHAPE grabs him. DAVID struggles out
of his slicker and runs to his car. THE
SHAPE follows him quickly and pulls him out of the car and throws him to the
ground.
DAVID punches The
Shape. THE SHAPE picks David up and
throws him over the car. DAVID lands
hard on his neck and lays unable to move as THE SHAPE slowly walks over to
him.
DAVID
Please man, don't.
THE SHAPE pulls out a long
kitchen butcher knife and lifts it up into the air and shoves it down into
David.
FAR VIEW: THE SHAPE stabs David over and over.
THE SHAPE gets into David's
car.
PAN BACK TO A CAR HIDDEN IN
THE DARKNESS AND THE FACE OF TOMMY DOYLE IN THE DRIVER'S SEAT WITH A CELL PHONE
TO HIS EAR.
TOMMY
I’ve found him.
Go to City Hall in the
morning and look in the city files down in the basement for information on the
Strodes.
That’s where they put the
Strode files after what happened two years ago.
Just do it, he’s leaving.
TOMMY hangs up.
THE SHAPE drives away. TOMMY follows him in his car.
DARKNESS engulfs the camera.
CUT TO: OPENING CREDITS
"HALLOWEEN THE
SERIES" TITLECARD
CUT TO: LINDA WILLIAMS sits
in her home. She is putting her
groceries away.
SUPERIMPOSE:
PAN AROUND THE ROOM TO SEE
PICTURES OF LINDA AND HER FAMILY AND FRIENDS.
THE PANNING STOPS ON ONE PICTURE—A PICTURE OF TWO YOUNG KIDS. ONE OF THEM IS LINDA AND THE OTHER LOOKS TO
BE A YOUNGER TOMMY DOYLE.
LINDA takes the hamburger
meat out of the bag and puts it into her freezer. The telephone rings.
LINDA closes the freezer and
answers the telephone.
LINDA
Hello?
ALAN (over the telephone)
Hey honey.
LINDA
Hey.
ALAN
Whatcha doing?
LINDA
Just putting the groceries
away. You know
ALAN
That’s kinda what I called you for.
LINDA
What?
ALAN
We can’t go out tonight
honey. Daniel’s sick and I have to cover
for him tonight with Ducksworth. It’s a
very important meeting for us. It could
mean a big promotion.
Linda’s face fills with
sadness.
LINDA
Okay.
ALAN
You’re not mad, are you?
LINDA
No. I guess I’ll call up
ALAN
Okay Lind---- honey, I gotta go.
LINDA
Okay. Bye.
ALAN
Bye honey.
ALAN hangs up. LINDA slowly hangs up the telephone. She walks out of the kitchen and lies on the
couch.
CUT TO:
SUPERIMPOSE:
There are five old file
cabinets, covered with dust.
I think I should have gone Myers hunting with Tommy.
In the darkness, a shadowy
figure appears. The figure’s slow
footsteps can be heard.
Empty.
He closes it and opens
another. It is also empty.
Empty.
He closes it and opens the
others. They are all empty.
Damn.
Hello.
TOMMY (over the cell phone)
Man, there are no files down
here.
TOMMY
Yeah there are.
The file cabinets are empty.
TOMMY
They’re gone?
Yeah.
TOMMY
Damn, he must have taken
them.
Michael?
TOMMY
Not necessarily him. Him or whoever’s watching him.
Wynn?
TOMMY
Maybe.
Why take all the files
though?
TOMMY
He’s searching for
something.
Or someone.
TOMMY
Yeah…. I know where you can find copies of the
files, maybe the originals.
Where?
TOMMY
Go to
I’m leaving now.
CUT TO:
No one answers it.
VOICE FROM BEHIND
Hey man. She’s not there.
JIMMY
She won’t be home until
seven.
Really?
JIMMY nods a little.
Do you have a key or
something? Cause I really need to get in
there. It’s a matter of life or death.
JIMMY
I’ve got something better.
CUT TO: An empty bedroom in
the house. JIMMY and LOGAN come in
through the window.
JIMMY
She never comes in this room, and she definitely doesn’t ever check to see if
this window is locked.
Where would she keep files?
JIMMY
Files? Her office, I guess. It’s the next room over.
Okay. I’ll be right back.
Bingo.
CUT TO: Linda’s house. Evening time.
Linda sits in front of her television, watching television. There is a knocking at the door. Linda gets up and answers the door. It’s SANDY DAVIS and her two children, KYLE
and BRIAN.
LINDA
Hey Sandy.
Hey and thanks again for
this. I owe you big time.
LINDA nods.
Well, gotta go. We’ll be back to get the two monsters in a
few hours.
LINDA
Okay. Bye.
Bye.
LINDA closes the door.
LINDA
So guys, what do you want to
do?
KYLE
Let’s watch Cartoon Network,
Cow and Chicken’s on.
BRIAN
That show stinks, let’s
watch Batman and Robin.
KYLE
She doesn’t have Batman and Robin.
BRIAN
I brought it.
KYLE
Oh darn.
BRIAN pulls a video from
under his jacket and puts it in the VCR.
LINDA
This is going to be an
interesting night.
CUT TO: Tommy’s car. TOMMY drives up to David’s car. It’s parked.
TOMMY stops the car behind David’s car.
TOMMY runs over to David’s car.
The Shape is gone. TOMMY looks
around.
CUT TO: Linda’s house. Linda’s dog can be heard barking in the
background. LINDA, KYLE, and BRIAN sit
on the couch, watching Batman and Robin.
BRIAN
What is Max barking at?
LINDA
I don’t know. Don’t worry about it. It’s probably just a cat or something.
KYLE notices the picture of
Linda and Tommy.
KYLE
Who’s that?
LINDA
Who?
KYLE picks up the framed
picture and hands it to Linda.
LINDA
Oh that’s Tommy. He was one of my friends when I was little.
KYLE
Tell us about him.
LINDA
No, I don’t want to.
KYLE
Come on, tell us. He’s cute.
LINDA scoffs.
LINDA
Okay. We lived right in front of each other. We used to sit around and watch movies all
the time. We went through good times and
some bad times, namely one when we were eight.
But that’s something you two don’t want to know about. After we graduated, we drifted apart. He became obsessed with crazy things and I
went to college. We haven’t seen each
other since.
KYLE
That’s sad.
LINDA
Yeah.
BRIAN rolls his eyes.
BRIAN
You girls are wimps.
The electricity goes
out. BRIAN screams.
KYLE
What happened?
LINDA
I don’t know.
BRIAN
Maybe it’s The Boogeyman.
LINDA looks down at Brian.
FLASH: Linda and Tommy as
children looking behind them and seeing The Shape.
LINDA
You two stay here. I’ll be right back.
BRIAN
But it’s dark.
KYLE
Who’s the wimp now?
LINDA walks into the kitchen
and feels around for a candle and the box of matches.
LINDA
Guys, come in here. I found a candle.
LINDA lights the candle and
KYLE and BRIAN walk into the room.
LINDA puts the candle on the
table.
LINDA
Stay here. I’m going to go check the fuse box.
LINDA strikes a match and
walks out of the room with it.
CUT TO: Tommy walking down
the street, searching for The Shape.
TOMMY
Why are you here,
Michael? What are you looking for?
TOMMY walks on.
CUT TO: Linda walking into
the washroom, outside her house. She
looks around and the match goes out.
LINDA scoffs. She reaches into her pocket and pulls out
another match. She strikes the match
against the wall and then she gasps.
Stuck in the fuse box is a huge large kitchen knife.
LINDA drops the match and
runs back into the house.
CUT TO: Tommy walking
outside Linda’s house. He looks down and
sees blood flowing onto the sidewalk. He
slowly follows the blood and comes up to a gutted dog, apparently Max, Linda’s
dog.
CUT TO: LINDA running into
the kitchen.
LINDA
Come on, we need to get out
of here.
BRIAN
Why?
LINDA
No time, we need to get out
of here!
KYLE
What is it?
LINDA
Come on!
THE SHAPE materializes
behind Linda.
KYLE
Linda, who’s that with you?
LINDA
What do you mean? No one’s with me.
THE SHAPE lifts the knife.
BRIAN
He’s got a knife!
Linda’s eyes widen and she
turns around. THE SHAPE slashes at
Linda. LINDA screams and falls to the
ground.
CUT TO: TOMMY looks up and
runs into the house.
CUT TO: Inside the
house. TOMMY runs into the kitchen and
picks up a chair and slams it into The Shape.
THE SHAPE falls back. TOMMY hits him
with the chair again. THE SHAPE grabs
the chair and throws across the room.
LINDA gets up and runs to
Brian and Kyle. TOMMY punches The Shape
over and over. THE SHAPE falls into the
table and lays on the floor motionless.
TOMMY looks down at The Shape.
LINDA looks at Tommy, slowly
realizes who he is.
TOMMY
Are you all right, miss?
TOMMY looks at Linda and
then recognizes her.
LINDA
Tommy?
TOMMY
Lindsay?
THE SHAPE jumps and pushes
Tommy into the wall. LINDA screams. THE SHAPE slashes Tommy’s chest. TOMMY falls down in pain. THE SHAPE turns around and looks at Linda and
the children.
LINDA
Run.
LINDA, BRIAN, and KYLE run
out of the kitchen. THE SHAPE follows
them.
They run into a room and
lock themselves in there.
LINDA
Oh God. He’s found me.
KYLE
Who was that?
LINDA
Remember that story I didn’t
think yall would want to hear? That’s
it.
THE SHAPE starts pounding on
the door.
The kids scream. Linda’s eyes widen.
They run to the window. SANDY and PAUL drive up outside.
KYLE
There’s Mom and Dad.
LINDA opens the window.
LINDA
Get out there quick. Tell them to get down to the police station.
BRIAN
What about you?
LINDA
I’ve gotta get Tommy.
BRIAN and KYLE jump out the
window and run to their parents. The car
drives off a few seconds later. The door
busts open. LINDA screams and turns
around. ALAN stands in the doorway.
LINDA
Alan.
ALAN
Linda, what’s going on?
Suddenly a knife blade comes
through Alan’s neck. LINDA screams. THE SHAPE pulls Alan down and stabs him over
and over.
LINDA falls down by the
window. THE SHAPE slowly walks over to
her.
THE SHAPE lifts the
knife. LINDA closes her eyes. TOMMY appears behind The Shape and swings a
poker into the back of his head. THE
SHAPE falls down.
TOMMY
Run!
LINDA gets up and runs out
of the room. TOMMY continues to beat The
Shape over and over with the poker. Then
he shoves the poker into The Shape. The
Shape lays on the ground, motionless.
TOMMY kicks The Shape and then runs after Linda.
CUT TO: Outside. TOMMY and LINDA run down the street and come
up to Tommy’s car.
TOMMY unlocks the doors and
they get in. They speed down the street.
CUT TO: Inside Linda’s
house. Moments later. Police and paramedics are everywhere. A COP walks out of the room as two paramedics
wheel Alan away on a gurney.
Another cop comes up.
COP
Somebody got messed up in
there.
The other COP looks in
there.
COP
But where is that person?
The Shape is gone. All there is, is a puddle of blood and the
poker.
CUT TO: Tommy’s car speeding
down the road.
TOMMY
Why is Michael after you?
LINDA sits there in a daze.
TOMMY
Lindsay.
LINDA looks over at him.
TOMMY
Why is he after you?
LINDA
I don’t know.
TOMMY
Don’t give me that. He came over 200
miles to get you. There’s a reason he’s
after you.
LINDA
All I know is that that
Halloween night in 1978 and the one ten years later, he wasn’t just after
Laurie and her daughter.
TOMMY
He was after you?
LINDA
Yeah, all of us, Laurie and
me and her daughter and me the next year.
TOMMY
How do you know this?
LINDA
Dr. Loomis told me.
TOMMY
Dr. Loomis?
LINDA
Yeah. He told me Michael was after me because I’m
important to some ritual. He helped me
change my name and move here. He said it
was very important that Michael never find me.
TOMMY
Why?
LINDA
I don’t know.
TOMMY
Well you’re staying with me, until we find out.
LINDA
And where’s that going to
be?
TOMMY
Right across the Myers house in Haddonfield.
LINDA looks at Tommy
astonished.
LINDA
Looks like history’s
repeating itself.
CUT TO: Logan, reading
through the file. The telephone
rings. Logan puts the file down and
walks out of the room to the telephone.
He picks up the telephone.
LOGAN
Hello.
There is nobody on the other
line.
LOGAN
Hello?
No answer.
LOGAN hangs up. He stands there for a moment, staring at the
phone.
CRASH SOUND.
LOGAN runs back into the
room. The window was busted. He looks down and sees that the file is gone.
LOGAN runs to the
window. No one appears out there.
LOGAN exhales hard.
FADE OUT.
