The Kirtle

"Kirtle" is a Gorean word that can be used in two different ways. One is to describe what a bondmaid wears, or it can be used as a verb, as in "kirtle yourself slave", meaning ‘dress yourself’.

A bondmaid's kirtle is often a thin white woolen garment that is slit low in the front to the belly, barely covering the nipples of the slave girl. The waist is gathered at the hips and falls to the ground often to keep the girls in the north warm from the frigid cold. More often than not, the slave loves to bare their bodies, so you will often see their kirtles worn low on their hips to show off their belly and naval and the skirt hiked up and tucked into the waist band to show off the legs of the slave.

Thralls (male slaves) also wear a thin garment of white wool but it is worn as a tunic and bares the chest and legs so as not to encumber them as they work and to show off their chests and thighs.
