Barb Assault is one of the best mini games in RS as it is both challenging and fun. I�ve master (lvl 5) all of the roles and have had more than enough points to get all of the other equipment.
!READ THE TUTORIAL!!!!! There is no excuse for knowing nothing about this mini game.
The most important thing to remember in this mini game is that you must call to your partner. It is a good idea for new players to continue calling even after their partner is done.
Keep it 75+ this mini game is hard enough with out dragging low lvls along. Now some lower lvls will do fine.
Get on a clan chat channel. If everyone is on a channel it will help more then you know. It will also keep each player reliable for their calls. You will also be able to tell Def that there are runners blocked at cave exit.
Don�t use dba spec, no need to lower your def.
You might want to use the Excaluber spec which increases your def. Other specs aren�t worth much here.
After wave 8you will want to have two Healers. Although it is possible to solo heal on wave 10 it is not very much fun.

Ignore any �.� in the map.
Think of it like this, you get points for killing your target (healers-healers, att-fighter/ranger, def-runners) so if the cannon kills them you do not get those points. So you don�t actually lose points you just lose the possibility to get them.
On the other hand if you continue to let runners through you lose points. Also the faster you get the wave over with the faster you can gain more points.
If your on a pro team you simply will not need the launcher at all so it doesn�t really matter. This is because if everyone is doing their role the wave will be over before you could think about using it.
Att <�> Coll
Def <�> Heal
As the Att it is your job to kill all the Fighters and Rangers, also you must call to the Coll. Att is one of the easer roles to play in BA as you must simply kill monsters and call. Though calling and switching att modes can be tricky at times if you aren�t used to jumping between your inventory and FIGHT MODE.
In my experience mage and range do not do well in BA as they simply take longer. Melee is fast and reliable. For this guide I will only be discussing melee tactics at this time. In any case you must have high def or you will most likely die and cause your team mates to become very agitated.
Tactics: Melee
*First thing to do is call out the egg color to the Coll.
*Then rush to the two northwest entrances.
*While you are running switch your att mode to what ever the Coll called.
*Now start attacking the monsters. Note you can only att the Fighters and Rangers.
*Watch for the att mode to change when this happens, click on anywhere so you stop attacking.
*Call out to the Coll and switch your att mode.
*And start attacking the monsters again.
*Once all the monsters are done the best thing to do is either use the Horn of Glory or block Runners at the south cave exit. What ever you do you must continue to call egg colors for the Coll.
*To block the Runners go south to the cave exit by the healing pool. And stand on block spot, see map.
Hint: *Kill the Rangers first as you cannot hide from them they will hurt you more often.
As the Coll it is your job to collect the different color eggs the monsters drop, also you must call to the Att. Coll is probably the easiest role in BA as all you do is pick up eggs and call.
For Colling you may want to bring a pair of Boots of Lightness as you will be running around a lot.
Tactics:
*Call the att mode to the Att.
*Then run to the northwest platform and wait for eggs.
*Start collecting eggs as soon as you can.
*Watch for the egg color to change and avoid clicking the next egg right before a change.
*Call out the new att mode to the Att.
*Once your inventory is full you can deposit your eggs in the cannon.
*After both the cannon and your inventory is full start destroying eggs so you can continue to pick them up.
As the Healer it is your job to poison the Healers and heal your teammates, also you must call to the Def. Healing is the second hardest role in BA as you must make sure you teammates don�t die as well as kill the Healers.
For Healing you may want to bring a pair of Boots of Lightness as you will be running around a lot. You may wish to either join your private/public chat or turn private chat off so that you can clearly see the information bar at the bottom of your screen.
Tactics:
*First call the food to the Def.
*Click on your GREEN vending machine.
*Fill the healer vial in the healing pool to the west.
*Now run north and start poisoning the Healers.
*Watch for the food to change, try to avoid using the food on the Healers right before a change.
*Call out the new food to the Def.
*Watch the HP of your teammates. If their HP gets low enough a red cross will start flashing by their name.
*When anyone gets more then half way you should heal them as soon as you can.
Hints:
*While you are waiting for the Def to call the next food out you might want to heal your teams. Another good time is when you run out of food and have to go back to the vending machine.
*You may want to have people that need healing follow you to the pool.
As the Def it is your job to kill all the Runners on the traps, also you must call to the Healer. Def is the hardest role in BA as you must actually have some strategy to be successful.
For Def you may want to bring a pair of Boots of Lightness as you will be running around a lot.
Because Def is complicated I will use the map.

Tactics:
*First call the food to Healer.
*Then click on your BLUE vending machine.
*Start at the �b� then run along the �X� dropping food along the way.
*Then drop food around and on the trap.
*At this point the first call should change so you will need to call to the Healer.
*Now follow the �#� and grab the hammer and a few logs.
*Next run back to the east trap along the �#� dropping food.
*Once two Runners have died on the trap it will break. Click repair to fix it again.
*Now drop more food around the trap and go back along the �X� dropping food.
Hint:
*The Runners don�t have to be on the trap to be killed so dropping food right beside it will be fine.
There is no real need to barricade the caves once you get used to playing the game.
They need to fix the Barb interface. Sometimes the team list will disappear completely.
An add team to friends list. Or make them blue or something so you know who you�re teamed with.
