Hi, my name's Siobhan, and this is my first best friend, Annie. Her full name is Anna Grace Miller, and she died when we were 13. I couldn't get out of bed for like two weeks afterwards, I was in so much pain. She was the brightest thing in my early teen life. She was born on April 12, 1985 and died thirteen years and eleven days later on April 23, 1998. She was a towhead--she had very, very light blonde hair, it was almost white, and deep blue eyes, it was like looking underwater to her soul. Her soul was perfect in every way, she was a cheery, friendly, bright, caring, and gentle human being, and is now my personal guardian angel. Annie and I met in second grade, and were best friends by third. In fourth, on May 25, 1995, she first told me she loved me. I loved her back, of course. Annie loved ice cream, mint chocolate chip was her favorite. She also loved animals, and she loved little kids. She wanted five of her own, the first girl named Siobhan. She loved to read, and hike, and swim, and play baseball. I still can't look at a baseball without bursting into tears. Annie was buried in Bedford, New York, which is where we lived. I moved to Minnesota the summer before 9th grade, and even though I am grateful to have met my new friends, whom I cherish every day, I still miss my best friend, Annie.
