Pushstars at Irving Plaza
March 19, 2004
I first saw the Pushstars in 1999 when they opened for  Great Big Sea at the Painted Bride Arts Center in Philly. I didn't like them much the first time, but they grew on me. I really like them now.

Karen and I have been to see them supporting other groups and Chris Trapper on his own. I've gotten to see them more than she since most of the dates they do here are over 21 dates and she is only 18. She once got pulled up on stage to play Chris's guitar in Boston!

We've been enjoying them thois tour and they really blew the roof off in New York City this evening. The new guy, Hugh, seems really nice and an asset to the band.

They opened with Any Little T own and hooked everyone immediately. By the time Chris stepped out alone to do Keg in My Coffin, the crowd was right with him, singing along well. And the last number Waiting Watching... tru ly had them going out with a bang. They had psyched up the audience that didnt even need it.
