GBS at the Troc Philly 2004
Karen bought a Pushstars CD and poster. She was a happy camper. The newly that came tonight found me after the show and were soooo excited. They couldnt believe what a fantastic show GBS put on and I think weve made some roadtrip buddies from work! Heh. And then Lynda really surprised me with a birthday card signed by some of the OKPers and..Bob Hallett! OMG! I thought I was going to crumble right there on the floor! A great big thank you to the person who managed to get THAT on the card. Lynda did tell me who you were but Bobs signature on the card sort of pushed everything else out of my mind! I think it was bodhranbabe. If so, thanks so much I feel like Im on a cloud. Thanks to Lynda, Ilene, Kirstie, Endi, Columbine, Stacy, Cheryl and Howard, Maureen and Bob. Lynda, you made my week. Thanks! And then, Lynda gave me another surprise a real honest-to-goodness copy of the St. Johns Telegram on the day my class and I were in it! Whoo hoo! Thanks to whoever saved that one and thanks to Lynda for lugging it all over Kingdom Come to deliver it to me. Now I will get that framed I think and put t he photos of the kids all around it.
After we left the venue, we ran into the Pushstars guys out back. Karen had Dan, Ryan, Chris and Hugh sign the poster and Chris remembered Karen from three years ago. Karen told him it would have been sooner if they hadnt done so many over-21 shows (shes only 18) when they came to Philly. All of the guys were nice to the fans greeting th em in the alleyway. The GBS bys had left long ago apparently. But they are loose on the town today. Hope they enjoy our wonderful city. Maybe Ill catch the Pushstars at their free in-house show at TOWER records on South Street. Come on down! Vic's comment on the evening was the difference in Bob. Not only did he tease me about robbing the cradle because Bob looks so young in his new "do," but he observed how much Bob has stepped up his performance since Darrell left. He mentioned that Bob used to be like a manager on stage, making sure everything was going right, but now he is putting more effort and energy into PERFORMING. I have noticed in the last 2 years, Bob doing more vocals and interacting more with the b'ys on stage. And Bob is certainly really performing this time around.
