Summer in the Square
GBS in Buffalo 2005
Run Runaway was fun with that smokin fiddle again and Alan bounding all over the place. San plays a lovely whistle on that song. There was a point in 2001, I think, when he didnt want to play it anymore and said so onstage. He said he was going to throw it away after that concert. Dont know why he felt that way, he plays very well! But I know we didnt see it till last year when it came out again for this song.
Alan leads the audience in Video Killed the Radio Star.
Run Runaway finds Bob getting  Divine Inspiration
The Operetta came back with Alan singing the intro to Im a Rover. And now wed like to sing a song for all the ladies. Can we hear it from the fair maidens in the square? Beware of the rovers.

Then I guess he began talking hockey. He mentioned Kevin Adams. I have no idea who he is, but apparently he played for the St. Johns Maple Leafs when that minor league team was in Newfoundland. Perfect segue to
Helmethead!

When Bob began to sing, the flashbulbs went off like fireworks! Security immediately jumped down the throats of everyone who was near the stage and taking photos. That song has become a GBS staple, like
General Taylor, Mari Mac, Old Black Rum, Paddy Murphy and Ordinary Day. Its a great song made better by the fact that Bob sings it. And he was in good voice again tonight! No gravelly hoarseness. Note the big burly security guard protecting Bob from us wild women.

I should stop here to thank the ladies I passed my camera to during Rover and Helmethead. I cannot take credit for all the pics, only the head shots of Bob and a couple body shots.
