Basilica Block Party
GBS Style
Since we had not eaten anything except an ice cream cone since breakfast, Sunflower and I went off in search of food and drink. I was introduced to a Brat sandwich and a roasted corn the Midwest equivalent of a Philly cheesesteak and soft pretzel. I had already been indoctrinated into the joys of Iowa Margaritas dont EVER have a Jumbo Margarita. OMG! Its the first time Ive been dizzy-drunk. See the results????  Poor Victor warned me that Diane was not a good chaperone for me. LOL!
Pat McGee Band
After relaxing with our Brats and Roasted Sweet Corns we went back to watch the Pat McGee Band for a bit. They were okay and there was quite a crowd there. We enjoyed listening and caught some of the prize beer coolers they were throwing out into the audience. I wasnt too familiar with their songs so I couldnt sing along. In between Pat McGees band and Five for Fighting we got some drinks and went back. We got spots toward the front and spent a humorous 20 minutes listening to the fans in front vie for who was a bigger fan. It was funny.
Five For Fighting
Well, turned out I really liked Five for Fighting. They were introduced as being named after a hockey penalty five minutes for fighting. Boy, you learn something every day! I even recognized a couple songs from the radio. I could only stay for about 5 songs though because I was at my limit for standing. Being on my feet since 6 PM and standing except for about 30 minutes eating had taken its toll
I was unable to stand any longer and went back to the place where we ate while Sunflower finished out the concert there. If I had been able to stand I would have liked to go to see Shawn Mullins at the other stage.  We saw him in Portland, Oregon when GBS opened for him 3 years ago.

So I sat and waited for her and got introduced to Minneapolis mosquitos. I am no fan of theirs but they sure liked me!
