A Writer's Reference EP was released on January 27, 2004 on No Milk Records and contained 6 six tracks. It was re-released almost a year later on January 25, 2005. This time No Milk Records had teamed up with Drive Thru Records to produce two new versions of the disc. One containing 7 tracks, the other containing the same 7 tracks but included an extra Rushmore/Drive Thru Records sampler with 20 tracks.
