| After reasearching on how to build a poker table I came across HomePokerTourney.com They have everything you need to know about poker. I got aquainted with some of the table plans and jumped in. I started a low budget table for a start. I now have a good table to play poker on and the experience and lessons learned to make a better one. Some lessons that I learned from making this table: 1. An electric stapler would've been a nice purchase. 2. Take your time when pulling out the playing suface. Get it tight but make sure you have it even. Mine seemed to have lines running in it where I stretched it too tight. It also helps if you buy your material and get it on the table in a reasonable time. I hade to work to get the folds out of my fabric. Here is a cost breakdown of my table. Again I was going for a inexpensive table to start out with to give me a learning curve. I went with a 4'x6' table. Can easliy use it for six guys. As the game gets bigger can be used for a final table setup. Viynl & Wooven Suede - 19.00 Foam 24"x8' - 10.00 Battiing - 3.00 MDF leftover piece from my brother's table - Free 3/4" Oak Veneer from bargain bin at Menards - 9.00 Misc. Stain Supplies- 12.00 Folding Legs - Free from broke banquet table Glue Spray - 4.00 Total spent - 57.00 Not a bad way to get a usable table at a cheap price. |
