Blanket

Tightness in my chest
I remember what we did
Expecting on consequence
And dealt with in the end
Consequences grew unfathomably
And now life settles over me
A blanket of darkness shutting me out
I can’t talk to you
I can’t see you
I wish they would stop pressing the blanket
I wish they would leave me alone
I glance and see you
A drifting spell in the halls
Words rise up my throat
Never to be said
When I’m missing you
This blanket gets too thick
And I wish they would stop pressing the blanket
I wish they would leave us alone
