Chong was back to his predatory skills when he scored a hattrick in the pulsating
match against Public Bank Masters today. In a bright sunny day, MAS Veterans
played an intelligent game when they convincingly passed the ball around, much
to the amazement of their opponent. With a combined age of 498 years and 8 months,
MAS Veterans simply outclassed Public Bank Masters in all departments. Some
of the players must have felt that they are at their peak, even though most
of them are eligible for the early retirement scheme....another big-score win
for MAS Veterans.
Match Highlights
1st Goal - Chong dribbled his way to his first goal.
2nd Goal - RizalYob lobbed the keeper from outside the area.
3rd Goal - Capt Nik grabbed the third in a goal-mouth melee.
4th Goal - Ramzan coolly stuck the ball home from a fine Mauzi's pass
5th Goal - Chong driblled his way, again, to his second goal.
6th Goal - Chong completed his hattrick, when he, again, dribbled his way passed
the flat-footed Public Bank's defense.
Mahzan
continued his cameo act as a stand-in keeper, since Razali is still unavailable
for the match. But when he played as an outfield player in the third set, he
arguably broke every law of physic when he lobbed the ball over from just under
the bar.
Public Bank got
their consolation goals in the third set, when they had virtually lost the game
to a rampant goal-scoring machine of MAS Veterans.
