Andrea Csaszar
The 6-foot-6 sophomore center broke a 12-year-old school record and the single-game MAC tournament mark after blocking nine shots in the league semifinal. Csaszar, who also holds the MAC tourney record for blocks, was a second-team all-league selection. Despite missing seven games, she led Kent State in scoring and rebounding in the regular season, and also shot 55 (110-for-200) from the field and 84.4 percent (81-for-96) from the foul line. Csaszar scored a career-high 28 points against Youngstown State on Nov. 24 and also had four regular-season double-doubles.

How They Got Here On Saturday, Kent State beat Ball State to earn the MAC's automatic berth in the NCAA tournament despite defections and injuries in January that left the Golden Flashes with a 2-6 record and an active roster of just seven players.
Defense and a balanced offense have been the keys all season for the Golden Flashes, who return to the field of 64 after a one-year absence.
Andrea Csaszar controls the paint and is Kent State's most productive weapon on offense. The sophomore center, who blocked a school-record nine shots in a MAC tourney game, led Golden Flashes with 15.2 points and 6.9 rebounds during the regular season.
Kate Miller, Kent State's only all-league first-team pick, averaged 14.6 points and 2.8 assists per game in the regular season. In league games, she ranked first at the foul line (85.6 percent), third in scoring (16.3 average) and second in 3-point field-goal percentage (47.3). Miller scored in double figures in 23 of the Golden Flashes' first 27 games, with four 20-plus scoring performances.
Point guard Valerie Zona, who combined with Miller to sink 103 3-pointers in the regular season, scored at least 20 points in three games and in double figures in 17 regular-season games, where she averaged 12.9 points and 4.2 assists. The numbers were even better in league play -- her 14.6 scoring average ranked sixth, while an average of 4.88 assists put her at fourth. In conference games, Zona ranked second with 88.7 percent accuracy from the foul line.
Freshman forward Ashley Clark has come off the bench to average 6.9 points. Her 6.3 rebounding average ranks second on the team.
Rebounding is suspect. During the regular season, Kent State averaged 35.8 boards a game, and opponents were right behind with a 35.7 average.Notable numbers Kent State shot 46.2 percent from the field in the MAC. ... The Golden Flashes have played in seven straight MAC tournament championship games.
