Tim thanked everyone who worked on the Haiti Liturgy: Peg, Janyce, Maureen, Yvonne, Marguerite, the youth group, Peter Fortier and Chris.
Kyn Tolson of Norwich Mission House is putting together a website and has requested photos, diaries or other written material from anyone who has visited Haiti. Please lend Tim any material you have that you can share, and he will scan it and email it to Kyn.
Internet Dish -Tim reported that Fr. Horelle sent a letter indicating that he would be interested in obtaining an internet dish. We will investigate making arrangements through Hughes and having them bill us directly.
Library Books ÃÂÃÂÃÂÃÂ Fr. Horelle gave us the names of the establishments where he purchases school books: Henri des Deschamps, Librairie Auguste, and Action Sociale. Tim will get this information to Maureen.
Scholarships ÃÂÃÂÃÂÃÂ Fr. Horelle suggested that we use the scholarship money to pay the tuition for one student for one year. Tim will have $2,000 sent to Norwich Mission House to pay for the scholarship.
Solar Energy ÃÂÃÂÃÂÃÂ Tim reported that Paul is working on this project. Tim sent him a synopsis and project plan.
Financial ÃÂÃÂÃÂÃÂ Tim distributed the financial report and also shared the good news that we will be receiving a $10,000 grant from Vista Hermosa for the feeding program. The cost of food has increased 33% and the committee discussed increasing the amount we send for the feeding program. It was decided that we would send an additional $50 per month to help pay for the gas used for the generator.
$1,573 was donated by our parishioners for hurricane relief. Since Lilavois did not have much damage, the money will be sent to the Norwich Mission House for those in need.
HaitiÃÂÃÂÃÂÃÂs Back Porch Sale ÃÂÃÂÃÂÃÂ It was decided to change the sale from January to September or October 2009, hopefully to coincide with our Haiti liturgy for the Feast of St. Therese.
Next Meeting ÃÂÃÂÃÂÃÂ is scheduled for November 10. Since Tim and Chris will be away on vacation, Marguerite will chair the meeting and provide the opening reflection. Dawn will provide refreshments.
