Once Upon a good 'ol time....

In early '95, a friend of Danny's (Jason Gaver) introduced him to a real nice guy named Harry (Dusty) Keller. Danny & Dusty had a love of music and playing guitar in common. Danny invited Dusty over to "JAM"
Danny's Dad was impressed with Dusty's musical abilites. Bill and his wife had been WAY too long without a band to play in. (When they lived in Columbus, they had close to 10 years playing bluegrass, folk & soft rock. They were in the band "Couples Three" for many, many years)  A seed was planted in Bill's mind "let's get a band going..." and it came to fruition after an evening jamming at Bill's surprise 40th Bithday party!
The spring & summer of '95 was spent getting to know Dusty, his wife, Angel & their children.  The "Band" was blossoming.
Dusty introduced us to his next-door neighbor, Dan Hall, who would become our band's first bass player.
As the Jamming proceeded, we were joind by Ben Holtsberry, a natural born drummer, the best!
Hairy~Berry Jam was "born" in late 1995, our first gig in December of that year!

The "Name" Bill, Deb, Danny & Ben Holtsberry... hence the "Berry"; (Harry) Dusty Keller (who also had really LONG hair at the time) gave us the "Hairy"... and Dan Hall suggested since we first got together to jam... we should add... "Jam"!!

The Band ~  We have evolved and revolved over the years. A lot of comings and goings. Bill & Deb were a constant to keep the band going... Deb being the "mother tiger" , wanting to make a "go" of the band even when all others were getting tired, dismayed & disillusioned...

Original ~ Dusty Keller (Vocals, guitar, bass, keys); Bill Holtsberry, (Vocals, guitar, bass, banjo, mandolin, fiddle); Deb Holtsberry, (Vocals, keybaords, percussion, mandolin & some guitar); Danny Holtsberry (Vocals, guitar & Bass), Dan Hall (bass & vocals) and Ben Holtsberry Drums

Next wave~ Danny Bushong (Night School) joined the band to play bass and do vocals.
Ben left and Dave Williams (Bamboo Harris) joind us to play drums.  Danny Holtsberry left and was replaced by Joe Lafferee (Ignighters)

The next line-up Dusty decided to take some time off... Joe's friend Pam Crawford (Ignighters) came on board to play additional keyboards, plays a MEAN flute.. and sing. Deb & Pam became the best of buddies!!!

1998..99 Danny Bushong left the band and was replaced by Dave's friend Roy Owens. Roy's wife Vicki, helped us out with a lot of promotional work and did awesome photos for us!
In September, Dusty returned to us and Joe & Pam left the band.   Mike Terry Joined us as our "Sound Man"
David left the band in October, Ben Holtsberry was kind enough to sit in until we found Tony Taylor (Bamboo Harris) to play drums. Tony left and Ben came back..
We did "1999" the New Year's Eve Bash at "The Elevator Company" in Marysville.... the world didn't blow up, but the power went out when Deb sang "Rhiannon"...lol

the New the millenium...  the band was "running on empty"...  Danny Holtsbeery would sit in now and then... Also Drummers Jeff Freeman and  Jim Ambose.... Mike Tillman pinch hit for us on the bass after Roy left the band
Bill needed a break... so we only played off and on gigs... We were struggling... but would always pull something together for New Years Eve parties at Philly's

May 2005 in the late spring of 2005, Bill & Deb had the BUG!!! (Deb had never LOST the BUG!!) Pam introduced us to Chuck Doomy, an incredible blues guitarist. We decided to take another stab at the band thing... (darn Dusty had moved to Atlanta a few years before... ) So, Danny came back to play bass & guitar and Ben was back as our super drummer!

November 2005~  Pam & Chuck have left the band. We have added a Bass player, Jeremy Larson! and WOW is he awesome!!  We are back to weekly rehearsals!

January 2006! A New Year! Bill, Deb, Dan, Ben & Jeremy are planning and plotting! We are adding New music at every gig! WOW is this fun or WHAT???

Let's hope this thing keeps a rollin'  ~~~~~~
