| Chapter Nineteen D was a little sad that the entire night had gone by and Chris never tried talking to her. And thats because he had kissed her D pushed the thought out of her mind and tried to concentrate on the story Howie was telling about some gypsy woman hed met And that wench, Patty, was no where to be found Her thoughts wandered again back to Chris. Hed taken her out to lunch, kissed her for heavens sake and yet hadnt tried to talk to her at the party. She sighed, excused herself from the group, and went to the bathroom. She sat down on the side of the tub, remembering the events of the evening. Such a dramatic night She stood, staring at her face in the mirror. Her brown eyes were tired, her face drawn. She was tired and in need of sleep. But how could she sleep when she knew what would be running through her mind. Chris, Chris, Chris She liked Chris, and she liked him a lot There was a knock at the door. Just a minute, she said impatiently, washing her hands. Damn cheese, she thought, laughing at how Lance had been walking around eating cheese all night. She sighed and ran her hands through her hair and stared at her reflection a moment longer, completely forgetting someone was waiting for her. There was another knock. She walked to the door quickly. When she saw whom it was, a huge grin lit up her face. Hey, she said with a smile. Hi. I didnt think Shh, he said, silencing her by placing a finger over her lips. She pulled him into the bathroom and he shut the door behind him softly. He looked at her, his brown eyes full of emotion. He reached over and touched her face softly, just barely running his fingers across her cheek. She shivered and moved closer to him. Her eyes met his and they gazed at each other, each one wondering what the other was thinking. You spent so much time with him, he said sadly. I didnt have a choice, she retorted. And besides, all it was nothing but small talk, complaints about work. Nothing sparkling, nothing interesting. She paused and took a nervous breath. But Im here with you now. By choice. He smiled wickedly and lowered his mouth to hers. She pressed her entire body up against him urgently. He kissed her hungrily, greedily, hardly pausing to breath, and she met him, second for second, whimper for whimper. She moaned against him, almost shocked that anybody could make her heart beat so fast and so loud in her ears, and the electricity between them was so hot He finally broke the kiss; his breathing was jagged and uneven. Ds face was flushed. She took a step back to get some air, fanning her face. He walked towards her, quickly closing the space between them. Ive been wanting to do that all day, he whispered hoarsely, running a shaky hand through her long brown hair. You tried earlier, she breathed. No time then, I couldnt do it right, he said regretfully. He smiled again and said brightly, But I have all the time in the world now, if you would like to spend some of yours with me. His eyes were pleading. Chris, you know I will, she said softly, and kissed him again because she meant it.
