Greatest Hits
Part Four

Angel opened her eyes again and the gorgeous man was still holding her.  She groaned as she saw him smile at her widely.

Are you okay?  He asked, genuine concern in his voice.

Im okay.  Thanks.  Angel smiled weakly and struggled to get out of his arms.  He was making her knees feel all wobbly and she knew it wasnt because of her slipping.

He straightened up and watched her as she smoothed her hair and clothing.  Angel was aware of his eyes on her.  She turned to walk away, but as she did so, her right ankle gave out.  She yelped and he caught her again before she fell down.

My hero, Angel muttered and the man laughed.  I think I hurt my ankle.  He helped her to a chair and lifted her leg to feel her ankle.  It was already swollen.  He looked like he was concentrating on his little examination.  Angel began to wonder if something was really wrong.  Is it broken?  She asked, fear in her voice.

Nah, he said,  although it is really badly sprained.  Trust me.  I am a dancer, I know these things.  Angel laughed and so did the man.
He has a nice smile, she thought.  Her ankle tingled where he had touched her, and it wasnt because of the sprain.  Do you need some help out? he asked.

Angel didnt know what to say.  She glanced around the club quickly.  Her friends were nowhere in sight.  Uh she stammered.  I think so.  He helped her off the chair and threw an arm around her.  She hopped on her good foot beside him.  She was aware of eyes on her, boring a hole in her head.  He helped her limping form all the way to the front entrance.  Angel still hadnt spotted her friends.

I dont know where my friends are, Angel said.  I cant leave with out them.  We all came in my car.

She wasnt done talking when a worried voice yelled from inside the club, I know I saw her go outside with some guy!  It was Jade.  Natalie and Jamie were right behind her.  Angel watched Jade look around frantically before spotting her and running outside.

Oh my God, Angel, we just saw you fall and we didnt know where you went only that you took off with some guy and we didnt know if you had been kidnapped or what, Jade said in a rush of words, not pausing to take a breath.  She slowly looked from Angel up to the guy, who was still holding Angel up.  Her eyes widened.

Oh my god, youre youre Jade stuttered.  Her eyes rolled back and she fainted.  Jamie caught her.

Holy shit, Jade muttered, coming out of her stupor.

Shhh, Natalie said, shutting Jade up.  She turned to Angel.  Can we go home now?  This isnt fun anymore.

Jamie nodded his head.  Yeah, Angel, I want to leave also.  I have to go to an audition in the morning.

Angel sighed.  After all that whining that yall wanted me out of the house, and now yall are wanting to go home Angel giggled.  Sure kids, lets go.

Actually, Angel, I wanted to know if I could take you home.  I promise Ill be nice.  The guy who had helped Angel was looking at her hopefully.

Natalie made the decision for her, knowing that if left to her own devices Angel would refuse the ride the with handsome guy.  Yeah, Angel, go with him so we can put Jade in the backseat.  I need your keys.

But, but, I dont even know his name, Angel sputtered.

Silly me, the guy said.  Its Josh.

There, now you know, Natalie said, grabbing the keys out of Angels small handbag with a smile and helping Jamie pick up a still incoherent Jade. She turned toward Angel and Josh. Now go.  She made a motion with her hand for Josh and Angel to leave.

Josh picked up his cell phone.  I need the car around front, he said into it.

Angel watched Jamie, Jade, and Natalie walking away and then looked at Josh, who was grinning at her.  There was silence for a minute.

Oh good, here comes Philip with the car, Josh said happily.

Angel watched with wide eyes as the black limousine pulled up directly in front of them and the driver jumped out to open the door for them.  Josh helped her inside.  As he got them settled in, she warily looked around the huge space.
Oh, God, she thought.  What have I gotten myself into?
